To. The activity of the body is cleaning and sweeping in the Uposatha place, and performing activities in the mandala, etc. The activity of speech is speaking and confessing about the objects of transgression. In the Uposatha place, under the assembly of the Sangha, it means that no other activity other than the Uposatha should be done. Ask those venerable ones who have not arrived whether they have faith and purity. After asking, it should be stated again. Those who are not allowed to be absent from the Uposatha place are: the sick, and those who have entered the stream of virtue. By offering faith to them, disharmonious actions will be eliminated. By offering purity, one becomes a vessel of discipline. Stating again means stating faith and purity in the midst of the Sangha. The verse from "Shakya" to "Listen to me" shows the ritual of offering. To that Shakya Lion: Join the ten fingers together. Explain the Pratimoksha. Listen to that Vinaya from me. Shakya is the lineage, I am of the Shakya lineage, the lineage is completely pure. Lion is endowed with fearlessness, therefore wisdom is completely pure. What is fearlessness? After attaining perfect enlightenment, even if someone says, "You have not understood such a Dharma," there is no doubt; even if someone says, "You have not abandoned such defilements," there is no doubt; even if someone says, "You will not be obstructed by the five heinous crimes and other unwholesome dharmas," there is no doubt; even if someone says, "You have not correctly established the noble path, therefore you will not attain the noble fruit," there is no doubt. Saying that the Pratimoksha is explained, although the Sutra Pitaka and the Mother Tantra are also called Pratimoksha, here it refers to the meaning of explaining the Pratimoksha of the Vinaya Pitaka. "Listen to me" means that I have proclaimed this Vinaya, please listen. The two verses from "After hearing, the great sage" to "Pratimoksha" show entering into vows. There are also two ways: vowing to listen, and vowing to diligently practice. Vowing to listen is connected with the first root vow. Vowing to diligently practice is connected with the remaining seven root vows. After hearing, the great sage, towards subtle transgressions.

Strive and be respectful. Accomplish it as you have said. "Hearing" means hearing the recitation. The great sage, although the Hearer and the Solitary Buddha are also called great sages, the main one is shown to be the Buddha. In the Indian language, the word "Rishi" also implies "tormenting," meaning to torment and abandon afflictions. What is intolerable is what arises and cannot bear reproach, referring to sinful dharmas. Therefore, strive and be respectful, meaning to practice with great diligence as the Buddha said.\ \ Always extremely steadfast,\ The mind-horse that is difficult to control,\ With a hundred sharp nails,\ This Pratimoksha, like a rein.\ \ For example, a wild horse that is not tamed can be tamed with a rein with a hundred nails, and it will become docile. Similarly, the rein for the mind, which is like a wild horse, scattering and indulging in objects, and is difficult to control, is this Pratimoksha. Mentioning "mind" prevents the views of self held by non-Buddhists, etc. The word "similar" can also be understood as being the same in some way. What is the similarity? It is being free from two extremes: not being attached to the pleasures of desire, and not tormenting one's own situation, not creating suffering. These two extremes are the extremes of worldly people and non-Buddhists. Being free from these two extremes shows that this is Pratimoksha. From "What is great" to "will be liberated," this verse is to show the merit of the vow.\ \ Those who are great, with mere words,\ Can be restrained and do not transgress the boundaries,\ They are good people and horses,\ Will be liberated from the battlefield of afflictions.\ \ Greatness is a noble person, possessing virtuous qualities. For such a person, even with mere words of admonition, they will not cross the boundaries of discipline, but will engage in virtuous deeds. For example, just as a wise person riding a clever horse can conquer the enemy's battlefield, if a monk abides in Pratimoksha, which is like a clever horse, they will conquer the battlefield of afflictions. From "Who has no rein" to "will wander," this verse is to show the faults of wrong practice.\ \ Who has no rein?
