The words should be spoken until the recitation is finished. This chapter shows that the Sangha is completely purified because there is no falling. Furthermore, if a monk proclaims to the Sangha of monks in this way three times, if someone has a fault and knowingly does not confess, then that is knowingly telling a lie. Venerable ones, the Blessed One said that knowingly telling a lie is an obstructing dharma. Obstruction is obstruction between appearance and non-appearance. Appearance is the visible result, that is, this life; non-appearance is the result that is not visible in this life, that is, the next life. Therefore, a monk who wants to purify his faults should confess the faults he knows. If you confess, you will be happy, but if you don't confess, it is not so. Venerable ones, I have finished explaining the introduction to reading the Pratimoksha Sutra. The so-called "having a fault and remembering" means remembering the fall when others mention it. The so-called "seeing" means that even if others do not mention it, you yourself know that there is a fall. The so-called purification means liberation from suffering, or immediate recovery from the fall, which means making up for the fall. The so-called happiness means that after confessing as before, there is no regret or doubt, so it is called happiness. To this, I will ask you venerable ones, is there complete purity here? Ask "Is there complete purity here" two or three times. If you venerable ones are completely pure here, why don't you speak, so it is regarded as default. Any monk who has fallen should confess, and even if he did not confess when proclaiming the remaining sins, he should confess here. In this way, if no one confesses, the reciter should show that the Sangha is pure. In short, the Sutra is a false word, it is just the Sutra of the introduction. Saying the four Sutras will become two extremes, and one should avoid the extreme of having too much or too little due to the four defeats. The Buddha appeared in the world, possessed a Shravaka retinue, and for twelve years, everyone lived in Brahmacharya and there was no fall. Thirteen years

When the mother gave birth, the merchant's son, Good Giving, committed the first downfall by engaging in non-celibate conduct. Establishing such downfalls also has ten merits. What are the ten? The Sangha can abide very well, abide in comfort, tame the difficult to tame, make the ashamed comfortable, make the non-believers believe, make the believers increase, eliminate the afflictions of the visible Dharma, eliminate the non-manifestation of the future Dharma, and make the Dharma of Brahma abide for a long time. Among them, the gathering of the Sangha refers to being ordained from the human community, making the Sangha grow. Or, the discipline is established in order to lead the believers into taming and to expel the non-believers. Abiding very well means that it is not enough to just be ordained, so they must receive full ordination and be made to widely practice virtuous Dharma. Abiding in comfort means that if one commits a downfall, knowing the weight of the downfall, there will be no doubt, thus cultivating the antidote and abandoning the unfavorable aspects. Taming the difficult to tame means taming arrogance and frivolity, etc., and making them practice virtuous Dharma through the four postures. Making the ashamed comfortable means that because of the established transgressions, they are considerate of others, thus becoming good at guarding against sins, and therefore able to abide in comfort. Making the non-believers believe means that those who did not previously desire the teachings of the Noble Path, after hearing the benefits of not transgressing the precepts due to the establishment of downfalls, generate new faith of confidence, joy, and desire. Making the believers increase means that after establishing downfalls, growth arises from the previous faith. Eliminating the afflictions of the visible Dharma means that because of the establishment of downfalls, one recognizes non-virtuous Dharmas and thus no longer practices them. Eliminating the non-manifestation of the future Dharma means that when a transgression is established, although the present non-manifestation of the result that would lead to sinful consequences, it also eliminates its cause. Making the Dharma of Brahma abide for a long time means making the Dharma of the Noble Path abide for a long time. Because there are these ten merits, it is reasonable to establish downfalls. Parajika offenses have five qualities.
