It shows that living in a secluded place has fruitful meaning. A secluded place is a peaceful place. Action is a synonym for a secluded place. Peace refers to a place without noise, which shows the perfection of tranquility. The so-called "dwelling" is always connected with the saying "secluded place." Aging means dwelling in a secluded place until the end of death. The so-called "prime of life disappears" does not mean settling in a secluded place after aging, but dwelling in a secluded place from youth, until the end of aging and death. Happiness means that everything mentioned from "contentment" to "extensive learning" is possessed, so it is happiness because of slightly abandoning afflictions. From "Venerable" to "the beginning has been explained," it shows the eight meanings contained in the beginning, what are the eight? The fault of not listening, gathering what has not been gathered, the ritual of offering, vowing to practice, its merits, the fault of wrong practice, showing the truth, the retinue is completely pure. From "Venerable" to "obtained through diligence," it shows the fault of not listening. Venerables, how much has passed and how much remains from the springs? Venerable refers to the reader calling out pleasantly to gather the Sangha, meaning to take vows until the end of life. Spring is an uncertain time, when reciting the Posadha, it should be said what month it is now, how much has passed and how much remains. Venerables, aging and death will also appear, and the teacher's teachings will gradually decline. Venerables, practice yoga with diligence. Why are only aging and death mentioned in the twelve links of dependent origination? This is to show that it is the cause of Brahmacharya, what is the cause? It refers to the two places of dwelling and birth, the place of dwelling refers to the body, the place of birth refers to the Sutra Pitaka, if one of them is missing, it cannot become Brahmacharya, therefore aging and death will also appear, and the place of birth of the teachings will gradually decline, be diligent and strive to practice. Among them, the teacher is showing the truth without distortion.

That is, the Tathagata. The teaching is the sutra of the scriptures. It arises from the Dharma of the Abhidhamma. As it is said, "As long as the true Dharma remains," as long as there are both speech and practice, the true Dharma will also remain. Therefore, speech refers to reading and so on, and practice refers to cultivating the antidotes to afflictions. The above explains the cause of diligence. The Bodhi of the Tathagatas, Arhats, and Samyak-sambuddhas, and all other virtuous Dharmas of that kind, the divisions of Bodhi, are also attained through diligence. The Tathagata is spoken of like the Tathagatas of the past. Understood and known as in the past. Or, truly expounding the Dharma, like the past, without leaving any remainder and passing into Nirvana, therefore it is called Tathagata. Arhat is the Arhat who has cut off afflictions. Samyak-sambuddha means completely and without inversion. Bodhi means attaining the wisdom of exhaustion, that is, attaining the wisdom of exhaustion and the wisdom of non-arising. The virtuous Dharmas such as the divisions of Bodhi are also attained in the same way as above, by attaining the present Bodhi, all virtuous Dharmas are also attained along with it. The so-called divisions of Bodhi refer to the arising of Bodhi or becoming the cause of Bodhi. This chapter explains the result of diligence. From "From this onwards to be spoken" to "in between," it explains the collection of things not yet collected. What should the Sangha do first? The Blessed One said: The Shravaka Sangha has few things to do and few affairs. What should be done first refers to someone asking what needs to be done after having done the Uposatha, confession, etc. Among them, subduing refers to subduing the afflictions such as the three poisons, and subduing the four maras. Having means having the merit of goodness, or having the roots, that is, having the six roots. Shravaka means I have heard, heard and attained the fruit, and also means being heard by others. Few things to do means, as mentioned above, after confessing, guarding and remembering the committed sins with the mind. Few affairs means that the actions done by body and speech have been completed.
