It teaches the two: the difficulty of encountering and the difficulty of realizing. Even in hundreds of thousands of eons, hearing the Pratimoksha, retaining and remembering it are very difficult to obtain, and those who can practice it are even rarer. What is the meaning of "Pratimoksha"? It means that it can individually liberate from the afflictions of karma, the afflictions of life, the secondary afflictions of afflictions, and things. Also, in one meaning, it is called "Pratimoksha" because it can liberate from even the subtle ones that mix the large, medium, and nine grades of afflictions. Question: From subtle afflictions and above, by what is one individually liberated? Answer: It is by the noble path that one is individually liberated. There are two types of Pratimoksha: Pratimoksha that can be lost and Pratimoksha that cannot be lost. For example, those of other faiths, by practicing the ten virtues, can be liberated from the three lower realms and be born in the realms of form and formlessness, but because they have not cultivated the true path, they will still fall back into the three lower realms, which is called Pratimoksha that can be lost. Thus, the Pratimoksha that cannot be lost is based on this Pratimoksha, cultivating the noble truths and the dharmas of the path, and one will surely attain Nirvana, hence it is called not lost. If one doubts, if the noble path can make Pratimoksha, why is the name "Pratimoksha" given to the path itself? Answer: This is because the name of the result is given to the cause, so there is no fault. For example, muddy water is a disease of the feet, and women are a fault of Brahma. Also, in one meaning, Pratimoksha also means individually liberating from the state of the three lower realms and being born in the good realms. Among them, hearing means truly hearing with the ear consciousness. Retaining means mentally remembering with sound and meaning. Remembering means not only for a moment, but also remembering in the same way at all times. Among them, practicing means truly practicing, putting body, speech, and mind into it. Thus, Pratimoksha is difficult to hear even in hundreds of thousands of eons, so it should be known that retaining and practicing are also very rare. Among them, hearing, retaining, and remembering are included in what is very difficult to obtain from the teachings. Practicing then

It is included among the rare realizations. From here on, it explains that the arising of the Three Jewels is the cause of happiness. The arising of the Buddhas is happiness. The meaning of "Buddha" is: In the Indian language, it is called "Buddha" (梵文天城体:बुद्ध,梵文罗马拟音:Buddha,汉语字面意思:Buddha), which has two meanings, namely awakening and increasing. Among them, just as a person awakens from sleep, awakening from the sleep of ignorance is awakening. Increasing is, like a lotus flower blooming, the meaning of the accumulation of merit and wisdom increasing. Among them, arising is the meaning of being born from the mother's womb. To this, a doubter asks, arising is the meaning of birth. Birth is suffering, so why is it said to be happiness? The answer to this is, for example, fire is the cause of happiness. Combining this sentence, although it is said to be a heap of suffering as mentioned above, it itself becomes the cause of liberation and happiness, so there is no contradiction. To this, it is asked again, the one born from the mother's womb is a Bodhisattva, so why is it called a Buddha? The answer is that this is applying the name of the result to the cause, just as cotton becomes cloth, from the arising of Bodhicitta, one will surely become a Buddha, so there is no contradiction. Among them, happiness is the happiness of self and others, Bodhisattvas practice austerities and then realize Bodhi, obtaining the body of complete liberation, so it is self-happiness. Similarly, seeing and hearing the Tathagata, and those who make offerings and praises also obtain great merit, the blind and deaf can also restore their senses, and those with dull senses and those who are immature can also become clear, so it is the happiness of others. Therefore, it is said that the arising of the Buddhas is the cause of happiness. Teaching the Dharma is also happiness. Teaching the twelve scriptures, from not knowing the difference between good and evil, thereby abandoning the non-virtuous and engaging in the virtuous, and explaining the scriptures and asking questions and reading, etc., doing these will obtain great merit, so it is said to be the cause of happiness. The harmony of the Sangha is happiness. The Sangha is unassailable, and in reality refers to the noble Sangha such as the eight great persons. Among them, harmony refers to the harmony of the four: discipline, view, conduct, and livelihood.
