The king requested some monastic communities to leave, and the Six Groups agreed. Then, after arranging the four types of armies, the Six Groups, as before, extremely slandered and disturbed, and after the king requested the Buddha, the Buddha did not allow it, and thus established (the rule). If one enters into the arrangement of armies, one will commit a Patita offense. Looking at humans and animals fighting is a Dukkritta offense. Other written correspondence is merely for conveying information. Banners have three forms: a lion banner, a makara banner, and a bull banner, any of which is acceptable. Furthermore, if a monk is angry, agitated, and fierce, and becomes displeased, striking a monk is a Patita offense. When the Buddha was residing in Shravasti, the great Maudgalyayana ordained and fully ordained seventeen groups of people from childhood, and those who were respected and resided there were initiated into Bodhi by the monk Evil Star, who initiated many gatekeepers. Those people said, "Those who are not our Khenpo and Acharya cannot do it." Then, Evil Star struck one person, and the seventeen groups all fell to the ground. At that time, the monks with few desires criticized and established (the rule). If one strikes a monk with a fist, one commits one Patita offense. Striking with the palm of the hand results in five Patita offenses. Striking with weapons, sticks, etc., each method results in one Patita offense. Striking with a broom, etc., or striking with something as small as a mustard seed, each seed results in one Patita offense. If the body is not touched, each results in a Dukkritta offense. Striking a Shramanera and ordinary people, each results in a Dukkritta offense. There is no offense for suppressing and chanting mantras. Furthermore, if a Shramanera is angry, agitated, and fierce, and becomes displeased, intending to strike a monk, even if it is only with the palm of the hand, it is a Patita offense. When the Buddha was residing in Shravasti, the monk Evil Star made the seventeen groups work, and when he intended to strike one of them, the seventeen people all fell to the ground. At that time, the monks with few desires criticized and established (the rule). From the act of intending to strike, the Patita offense is the same as striking. Striking and intending to strike animals also result in a Dukkritta offense. There is no offense for intending to strike in order to prevent non-virtue. Furthermore, if a monk knowingly conceals the impure offense committed by a monk, he commits a Patita offense. The Buddha was residing in Shravasti
