It is known as "za'o" in all directions. Then, some Brahmin sons discussed and pretended that one of them was dead. Many people carried him, along with five portions of food, to the cemetery. Then, a fox came, and fearing that the food would be eaten, the monks prepared to drive it away. The young man who was pretending to be dead laughed and ran away, and his friends also shot arrows at him. After doing like this, one should accept what is given and be able to master zo shig dan de nyi. The Blessed One said that the Six Groups of monks did not accept what was given, so the precepts were established. Whether it is food, drink, or beverage, if one eats or drinks without accepting what is given, one commits an offense. Situations that do not count as accepting what is given include: accepting from behind or from the left and right sides, being separated by fire or water in between, sitting on uneven ground to accept what is given, throwing upwards like a person, giving with the back of the hand, and placing food in a container in front without holding it from below, but inserting it with a finger. These do not count as accepting what is given. Sitting on a high place like a bed to accept what is given is not appropriate. Also, after a monk accepts the giving of food and goes to one side, if others put food into it, then without fire, one cannot accept the giving again. In a place called "abuse," if giving food in hand is not considered a fault, then in this place, one should hold the concept that the sound of the north is unpleasant, and even if one does not accept what is given, there is no fault. If a monk is carrying a heavy load and walking on the road, without accepting what is given, then on the first day, one should fast and sit down. On the following day, eat a palmful of food. From then on, one can eat as one pleases. The method of examining food is to examine it with fire, weapons, nails, etc. For something like a pile of grains or fruits, one should touch it with fire two or three times. If examining with weapons or nails, one should stab each grain one by one. For something like a fruit, from the time it falls after being given until one sits cross-legged and reaches out to take it, one can take it oneself. Beyond this range, one should accept what is given. The Blessed One told the monks about these good foods, such as: milk, yogurt, ghee, meat, and dried meat. Also, monks, good food prepared for me

Taking things like this from other people's homes, eating or storing them leads to downfall. When the Buddha Shakya was residing in Kapilavastu, the patron Shakya Mingqin invited the Buddha and the Sangha for a meal. After they returned, the group of six monks came to Shakya Mingqin's house. Then, the patron gave them the leftover food. The group of six monks got angry and said, "Taking this bad food." Then they scolded, "Even if you eat this food, you must ask for milk, yogurt, ghee, meat, etc. from this patron's house." After taking it and eating it, the patron and the monk with few desires scolded, so the precepts were established. For the sake of begging for these things, committing an offense and eating it leads to downfall. If it is not taken for begging, and eaten when sick, then committing an offense when begging. Taking it when sick, and eating it when not sick, there is no offense when begging, but eating it leads to downfall. There is no offense in taking churned and water-mixed whey, and there is no offense in taking it from relatives. In short: sentient beings live in dwellings and beds, standing and naked soldiers, going to the battlefield for two days, beating and threatening, and taking bad dwellings. Also, a monk knowingly using water with living creatures will lead to downfall. When the Buddha was residing in कौशाम्बी (Sanskrit Devanagari: कौशाम्बी, Sanskrit Romanization: Kauśāmbī, Chinese literal meaning: कौशाम्बी), a faithful monk knowingly used water with living creatures. The beneficial monk advised, "Why not put these creatures in the big pond of the sea?" The monk with few desires scolded, so the precepts were established. Thinking there are creatures, or using it with doubt leads to downfall. Thinking there are various food juices and ghee, honey, etc., eating or drinking with doubt leads to downfall. Also, a monk knowingly and forcefully spreading a mat and sitting down in a place where bad deeds are done leads to downfall. When the Buddha was residing in Shravasti, then a young man selling incense married a wife. Not long after, he had intercourse with his wife during the day. The monk Kara discovered it and went to the young wife's residence, preaching the Dharma. The young man selling incense also came and said, "Venerable Kara, please go for alms." Kara
