For the sake of illness, having gathered what the ocean gave, etc. The food given by Ajatashatru was all gathered in the Jeta Grove, and after eating, the monks with few affairs made rules. There are two kinds of rooms, namely the basic dwelling and the individual dwellings. Among them, the basic dwelling is like a gathering place for the Sangha, where those who gather for food, if they do not ask whether the monks from their respective dwellings have come here, they will commit a misdemeanor. Those who gather and eat in their respective dwellings, if they eat without asking whether the monks from the basic dwelling have come here, will fall. Three nuns and mixed monks less than four gathering and eating, or the basic monks and some food manifested, there is no fault. Food prepared by one patron from one kitchen, even if gathered and eaten, there is no fault. Among them, those who are sick are many monks who have become sick, and this cannot be done. Working time is for the Sangha and for the stupa to do great work, and small things like sweeping. On the road, it is before going half a krosha. Entering a boat is also before going half a krosha. During the great festival, it is when patrons separately give with faith within the boundary. What is called "ascetic's food time" is that King Rupakshaya arranged for the sustenance of many monks in his own temple, and in his arrangement, his uncle, a heretic, became ordained within that boundary. Like the food given by a monk who came from a heretic can also be gathered and eaten, like the food given by a heretic monk, even if gathered and eaten, there is no fault. Also, if a monk cooks or eats food after the time has passed, he will fall. When the Buddha was dwelling in Shravasti, when the seventeen groups of monks went begging for alms, they were seen by lustful women who beat their breasts and said, "Having just given birth, I can't even eat a mouthful of salt." The seventeen groups of monks felt ashamed and thought, "We would rather fast than hear such harsh words." So they stopped begging for alms. Then, in the evening, the people of the city collected food and drink,

Having seen a pit in the vegetable garden, the seventeen groups took food and ate it. The monk with few desires made a rule. From noon until dawn of the next day, if one eats food or chewables, one will commit a downfall. If one has done work or traveled a long distance, one may eat jaggery and other such things. If one eats while sitting in place, or eats food in the morning, and drinks water in the afternoon without rinsing one's mouth, one will commit a minor offense. Drinking a drink in which light is not visible is a minor offense. The group of doctors must eat together, or if a patient cannot be satisfied with one meal and is weak, there is no offense. The afflictions have not been pacified. Furthermore, if a monk stores, cooks, or eats food or chewables, he will commit a downfall. When the Buddha was dwelling in Shravasti, there was a black monk who was begging for alms. He would eat the food with juice immediately, and the food without juice would be dried and placed in pottery. When the weather was cloudy or it rained, he would soak the dried food in water and eat it. Later, in the monastery's residence, the Buddha saw that a lot of food was being dried and stored, and he made a rule against it. After a monk has received food, if he eats it after noon without it being touched by a layperson, he will commit a downfall for each time he eats it. If a monk cooks food himself, or cooks food in his own residence, or if the food and residence are combined, or if the food has been touched by a monk, he will commit a minor offense in this way. For the sake of the monastery's kitchen, or connected to the kitchen, or someone living in the outer courtyard, if he eats food there without inspecting the kitchen, he will commit a minor offense for each time he eats it. Furthermore, if a monk swallows food without permission, except for water and toothpicks, he will commit a downfall. When the Buddha was dwelling in Shravasti, there was a monk named Black Monk who had attained the fruit of an Arhat, and he would take his clothes, food, and bowl from the cemetery. He lived in the cemetery, and the corpses of people who had died in Shravasti were brought there. Five portions of food were sent for one corpse per month, and that monk would eat and live there. Many people there saw that the monk did not often beg for alms, and his complexion was good. A few people saw that the monk often begged for alms, and his complexion was bad. Seeing this situation, people
