After a month had passed, when going to pay homage to the Buddha in Shravasti, they saw many guests together with monks. Those people thought it was not right to walk with monks, so they detoured, but were robbed by bandits, and only then were they allowed to walk with the monks. It was necessary to walk on a road where many guests traveled. If force could not resist, there was no fault in embracing a nun and walking together out of fear. Also, whichever monk, after embracing, entered a boat together with many guests of nuns, whether going upstream or downstream, anything other than going directly to the other shore is a downfall. When the Buddha was dwelling in Shravasti, the six groups of monks with their disciples, the twelve groups of nuns embracing with their disciples, whether it was the joyful one and the joyful woman, or the close disciples, or others in pairs, entered the boat together with a single alms seeker, playing and frolicking by the water, and were seen by a Brahmin, who said, "This is the monk's wife, this is the bride." The alms seeker heard this and was displeased, and said he would return. Therefore, the monk with few desires established the precepts. If going to the water's edge, half a yojana is a misdeed, and one yojana becomes a downfall for each. There is no fault if escaping from a cliff or a cesspool. Also, whichever monk dwells alone with a woman in a protected place, it is a downfall. When the Buddha was dwelling in Shravasti, a nun named Sbedma, whose turn it was to clean the house, came to the one in charge of cleaning, stood and spoke, teaching the Dharma, and an old, sick nun heard this. Later, when the nuns gathered, Sbedma was scolded for what she was doing without even putting down the broom. That old nun said, "These two initially came as brides, and have been talking about the wedding, without finishing the work." Therefore, the precepts were established. There is no fault in dwelling alone when a wise man is present. Also, whichever monk stands together with a nun, alone in a protected place, it is a downfall. When the Buddha was dwelling in Shravasti, Sbedma, the wife of Gyawa, having become a nun, it was her turn to clean the house, so she came to the one cleaning the monastery,

After Long (place name) appeared, when there was reliance, the two stood up, and after speaking a little Dharma, they began to tell the story of how they had enjoyed wealth when they were at home. Before they had time to wipe, the bhikkhunis who were begging for alms returned, and they said again: O venerable one, is Sbedma (person's name) there? What is she doing? What is wrong? Sbedma said: Not at all. Then, an old sick bhikkhuni said: It is not true that there is nothing at all. When a bhikkhu appears and the two are alone, they stand up. The bhikkhunis made a rule, and there is no fault for a wise man. Also, if the bhikkhunis eat the food offered by others, except for those who have been to their homes before, they commit a sin of downfall. When the Buddha was living in Shravasti, the householders and Brahmins always offered food to Elder Kaundinya and others. The Six Groups of bhikkhus went to the Twelve Groups of bhikkhus and said loudly: The food of these elders is always offered by the householders, please transfer it to us. Then, the fat bhikkhuni Gawa (person's name) went to the householder Galava (person's name), and went to the place where Kasyapa Kaundinya's food was offered, and said: You should offer the food to the Shakya clan's renunciates, the noble Gawa (person's name) who is proficient in the three baskets and has confidence. After that, (because) she ate it, and the bhikkhus with few desires made a rule that if a bhikkhuni eats the food that the householder had offered before, there is no downfall. In short, eating repeatedly and common dwelling, flour and food and strength, gathering and placing at the wrong time, swallowing from the mouth and eating. Eating repeatedly, except when it is time to eat, is a sin of downfall. The so-called time is: sickness is time, the road is time, giving clothes is time, for them, this is the time. When the Buddha was living in the city of Vaishali, a man named Busadawa (person's name) was working as a hired laborer under a merchant. He invited the Buddha and the Sangha to the merchant's house. The Six Groups of bhikkhus said: This hired laborer does not give us these leaders. Whoever eats the children in the city will leave. Offering food to the Sangha in the merchant's house was the child of the hired laborer...
