The two discussed giving the bhikkhu the price of cloth, offering a piece of cloth, but the householder's maid slandered Nanda, and Nanda also went to the householder and said, "What offering of cloth have you made?" He took out a piece of cloth and offered it, and Nanda said, "Householder, you have the merit of giving, it is not permissible for me to use it, please give a good one." But that householder did not have good cloth, because Nanda had acted as an intermediary at the time of the transaction and bought good cloth, but the price was not available for offering later, so he suffered and it was established. The other handling of the text is just greetings. Clothes, means to change color. Time, means that the sewing is completed, and the time to take the Dharma robe is allowed within five months. The occurrence of some discriminations means the meaning of the householder's maid's slander. The four differences of falling are: the place is in Shravasti, the person is Nanda, the affliction is greed, and the thing is clothes. For the sake of the bhikkhu, the householder's wife is not a relative, and each accumulates some price of cloth, we two each buy such and such cloth with the price of this cloth, a bhikkhu named so-and-so has come, we two each put it on him at the appropriate time, and so on. If that bhikkhu did not inform in advance, and some discriminations arose, he went to the householder and the householder's wife who were not relatives, and because he wanted good things, what was the order of cloth accumulated by the long-lived ones for me, with the price of that cloth, the long-lived ones each bought such and such cloth, and the two became one again, and at the appropriate time, put the appropriate clothes on me, so he said. If the clothes are finished, it is a nishkriya-patana. When the Buddha was living in Shravasti, after the bhikkhu Nanda preached the Dharma to the householder couple, the couple developed faith and accumulated some price of cloth, bought their own clothes, because they wanted to offer it to Nanda, the householder's maid slandered, Nanda went to the householder, for me
