Furthermore, if a bhikṣu, in an assembly of the Saṅgha, rises and departs without speaking, except for such a reason, he commits a pācattika offense. The Blessed One thus established the precept. Location: Śrāvastī. Individual: A bhikṣu with few desires. Defilements and faults: None. Among them, "bhikṣu" refers to Śākyaputra Nanda or others of that kind. "Saṅgha" refers to the Saṅgha of the Buddha's Śrāvakas. "When a Dharma-related matter is being decided" refers to the time of making a motion, a motion with one announcement, or a motion with three announcements. "Rises without speaking and departs from the seat" means rising and walking away from the vicinity of hearing. "Does not speak in the assembly of bhikṣus" means in the place where the bhikṣus are assembled. "Except for such a reason" means that in the matters being discussed, if a bhikṣu speaks in the assembly, except for such reasons as his bowl and robes being burned. "Commits a pācattika offense" is as previously stated. Among them, how does one commit a pācattika offense? Here, too, the pācattika offense is established through the basis, the action, and the action of the action, as well as the absence of offense, the training rules, and purification. One should understand the characteristics of this. Among them, the establishment of the actual pācattika offense here is when a bhikṣu, in the actions of a motion, a motion with one announcement, or a motion with three announcements, performs the act of purification and the end of the rainy season retreat, etc., and performs Dharma-related matters in the one hundred and one karmas. If, in the Saṅgha, without performing actions such as expulsion, he departs without speaking to a single bhikṣu, if he passes the place of hearing, then it becomes the actual basis for the pācattika offense of departing without speaking. If there is no arrogance in any of the one hundred and one karmas included in the motions, etc., there is no offense. If there is no arrogance in performing those Dharma-related matters, there is no offense. If there is no arrogance in doing it for oneself or for others, there is no offense. If there is no arrogance in the assembly of the Saṅgha, in the assembly of bodies, there is no offense. If there is no arrogance in not performing actions such as expulsion, there is no offense. If there is no arrogance in not speaking to a single bhikṣu who is staying before or after, there is no offense. If there is no arrogance in passing the place of hearing, there is no offense. If there is no arrogance at the beginning of the action, there is no offense. The agent here.

It is that the Sangha's requests and other affairs are in accordance with the Dharma, not informing the monks, and no disputes have occurred. With five branches, this becomes a fundamental offense: the Sangha's requests and other affairs are in accordance with the Dharma, one's own body is gathered there, no disputes have occurred, not informing the monks, wanting to go beyond the vicinity of hearing, and having gone beyond the vicinity of hearing. If the branches are incomplete among those, then correspondingly it is a minor offense. The offense of preparation is a misdeed. From the beginning of engaging in the preparation for the offense of going without informing, until not encountering the fundamental offense, it is a misdeed. It is not one hundred and one kinds of affairs; for affairs such as requesting based on ordination, it is a misdeed. Before not going beyond the vicinity of hearing, it is a misdeed. Going without meaning and unreasonably, even if informing the monks and going, it is a misdeed. For requests and two, or requests and four affairs, even if having made the request and not having begun the statement of affairs, even if going beyond the vicinity of hearing, it is a misdeed. For affairs that are not in accordance with the Dharma, even if not informing and going beyond the vicinity of hearing, it is a misdeed. The offense of preparation for preparation is a subtle misdeed. As many preparations as there are, so many preparations for preparation there are. The preparation for the misdeed of preparation is also a misdeed; it is a subtle misdeed. There is no offense if informing the monks, and there is no offense if disputes have occurred. There is no offense if one's own body is not gathered and offering consent and purification. There is no offense if going beyond without wanting to go beyond the place of hearing. There is no offense for beginners, as well as the insane, those with disturbed minds, and those oppressed by feelings. What should be learned is that a monk, in all places and at all times, should learn not to rely on all offenses of going without informing. Affairs such as requests that are not in accordance with the Dharma should not be done. Subsequent remedies are as before. The seventy-seventh offense of going without informing has been explained. The beginning of the offense of disrespectful conduct is the Buddha.
