Thus, it is established as stated in the sutra: "Except for inserting the root stake." The statement "It should be established as the measure of eight fingers of the Sugata" means that "Sugata" refers to the teacher. The so-called eight fingers of the Sugata are equivalent to a full cubit with measurement. The statement "If one allows it to exceed this measure" refers to exceeding this measure. The statement "After cutting off" means that after cutting off that object, one should confess the offense of downfall. The statement "Downfall" is the same as before. So, how does downfall occur? Here, one should understand the characteristics of this by establishing downfall through the main action, the preparatory action, and the preparatory action of the preparatory action, as well as the absence of downfall, what should be learned, and subsequent remedies. Among these, the establishment of the downfall of the main action here refers to a bhikshu who makes or allows to be made a bed or small bed for the sangha, any kind of leg such as four legs, except for the side where the root stake is inserted, exceeding a full cubit with measurement, it becomes the main action of the downfall of repairing the bed leg. For grass mats and the like, there is no fault. For iron and the like, there is no fault. For four legs and the like, there is no fault. For any bed or small bed of the sangha, there is no fault. For the leg except for the side where the root stake is inserted, there is no fault. Eight fingers of the Sugata are one-third of the cubit of the Sugata, therefore, there is no fault for exceeding a full cubit without measurement. There is no fault whether one does it oneself or has others do it. The agent here is the measure of the leg of the bed or small bed of the sangha itself, and the intention to seek to exceed that measure itself. Here, it becomes the downfall of the main action with five limbs: it is of the sangha, it is the leg of the bed or small bed, it belongs to the side where the root stake is inserted, their measure exceeds one cubit, one does it oneself or has others do it. If these limbs are not complete, then there are different faults according to the circumstances. The downfall of the preparatory action is a misdeed, that is, from the beginning of making the preparatory action of the downfall of the bed leg, until the completion of the main action, it is a misdeed. How many differences are there between the main action and the preparatory action?

For each action done, there is a fault. For the individual, there is a fault. For what is inappropriate, there is a fault. Accepting a confession of a transgression without asking "Has it been cut off?" is a fault. The combination of combinations of transgressions is a minor fault; as many combinations as there are, so many combinations of combinations there are. The combination of combinations of faults is also a fault, that is, a minor fault. There is no transgression when something already done is found, and there is no transgression for something already done. There is no transgression for a beginner, a madman, one who is mentally disturbed, or one who is afflicted by feelings. What is to be learned is that a bhikshu should learn not to rely on repairing bed legs, which leads to transgression, in all places and at all times. One should not sleep on a bed with short legs. A bhikshu wearing shoes should not wash his feet on the ground near the bed related to the bed. Without shoes, one should not wash one's feet with one's head to one side and one's feet to the other side. One should not wash one's feet in the left or right direction. One should not sit or sleep on a high mattress or a large mattress. In another's house, if there is no one else, one should not sit or sleep on those mattresses. One should prepare bedding on a bed with a footstool. One should not sit on a stacked bed. Whoever is making a confession in front of, one should ask him, "Have you cut off that thing?" One should not accept a confession without asking whether it has been cut off. If one confesses without having cut it off, that transgression has not been confessed, so one should confess again. Repairing it again is the same as before. The transgression of repairing bed legs, the eighty-fifth, has been explained. The story of the transgression of decorating with cotton wool is that the Buddha Bhagavan was dwelling in Anathapindika's Grove in Jeta's Grove in Shravasti. The bhikshu named "Near Joy" was new, so he got a bed. An older bhikshu took his bed, and it was also the time to assign dwellings, so he thought, what is the way to prevent my bed from being taken? So he took some cotton wool for some reason, and he thought, it would be good to spread the cotton wool on it. So he spread the cotton wool on the bed. After some time,
