The so-called "subduing the mind" means completely subduing the mind, that is, through it to subdue the obstacles of desire and the obstacles of ignorance, that is, meditation with leakage and without leakage. Among them, correct practice refers to performing correct yoga, which shows the teachings of higher mind learning and higher wisdom learning. This is the Buddha's teaching. The so-called "This is the Buddha's teaching" means that this teaching briefly explained by the Tathagata is a teaching that includes all paths, and this is the summary of the Buddha's teaching. The disciples of the Blessed One Tathagata, who protect all, will also reduce faults, such as merely liking to associate with householders. In order to make them completely abandon these faults, the Blessed One will briefly summarize the Pratimoksha Sutra in this way, and recite it every half month: Just as a bee from a flower, without harming the color and fragrance, extracts the nectar and flies away, so should the wise one walk in the village. This means that just as a bee extracts nectar and flies away without harming the color and fragrance of the flower, when a wise renunciate walks in the village for alms, he should also obtain food like nectar from the village without harming the mind and discipline like color and fragrance. The disciples of the Blessed One Tathagata who cut off the cycle of existence will also reduce faults, such as merely distinguishing the shortcomings and merits of others. In order to make them completely abandon these shortcomings, the Blessed One will briefly summarize the Pratimoksha Sutra in this way, and recite it every half month: One should observe one's own caste and non-caste, not the disharmony of others, and what others have done and not done. This means that one should observe one's own reasonableness and unreasonableness. The so-called "disharmony of others" refers to the unreasonableness of others. The so-called "what others have done and not done" refers to what others have completed and not completed.

One should not examine others. Thus it is taught that examining the virtues and faults of others gives rise to attachment and anger, therefore, abandoning the examination of others, examining oneself, and wishing oneself to become better, then there will be an opportunity to examine others later, thus it is taught. The disciples of the Blessed One, the Tathagata Golden Powerful One, will also have fewer faults, merely because they generate meditation with desire, in order to completely abandon those faults, the Blessed One in this way briefly summarized the Pratimoksha Sutra, and recited it twice a month: One should be careful with the higher mind. One should train in the bases of the able one. Always peaceful and mindful. The protector is without sorrow. This is its meaning. Among these, the higher mind refers to the four meditations. Among these, "one should be careful" means abandoning desire, pride, and holding supreme views, one should be careful. After explaining abandonment, in order to rely on acceptance, it is said, "One should train in the bases of the able one." Among these, "able one" refers to the one who possesses wisdom, because he acts repeatedly, so the able one is the Buddha, the Blessed One. The base of the able one is the four noble truths, that is, those things that produce the able one. To train in those is to train extremely and diligently, this is its meaning. So, what will happen if one trains? In order to explain the result, it is said, "Always peaceful and mindful, the protector is without sorrow." One should know that with peace and constant mindfulness, the nature of protection is shown. Among these, "peaceful" refers to equanimity, that is, being subdued by body and speech. "Always mindful" refers to always abiding in mindfulness. "Protector" refers to protecting one's own mind. "Without sorrow" refers to showing the exhaustion of birth, one should know that it is beyond sorrow. The disciples of the Blessed One, the Tathagata Kashyapa, will also have fewer faults, merely because they love giving and see many enemies, so those faults are completely

To abandon, the Bhagavan taught the ultimate Dharma, therefore the Pratimoksha Sutra was thus briefly recited every half month, that is: Giving greatly increases merit. Well-guarded, one will not become enemies, etc. Possessing virtue, one abandons sins. With the exhaustion of afflictions, one attains Nirvana. This is it. Among them, giving refers to the person who gives, who can greatly increase the karma of merit that has the fruit of enjoyment. Well guarding the precepts will not turn into enemies, etc. Because the precepts can cut off the cause of enemies, such as killing, stealing, and attachment to women. Possessing virtue refers to those who have attained the four dhyanas, who can completely abandon the sins of acting in desire, such as anger, jealousy, and unpleasant ripening results such as anger. By completely exhausting all afflictions with the noble path, one can attain Nirvana with remainder and Nirvana without remainder. Therefore, giving has the fruit of samsara, and should not be respected. Increasing enemies is contrary to guarding vows, so it should not be done. This is the concluding remark. When the teachings of the Bhagavan Tathagata Shakyamuni Buddha did not have blisters, his disciples also had few faults. Therefore, the Bhagavan briefly taught them the Pratimoksha Sutra in three verses: Do no evil, fully practice all good, subdue one's mind completely, this is the teaching of all Buddhas. The discipline of the body is good, the discipline of speech is also good, the discipline of the mind is good, the discipline of all places is good. Obtain liberation from all suffering. Guarding speech, protecting well with the mind, not doing unwholesome deeds with the body, if one can cultivate these three paths of action well, then one can obtain the path spoken by the sages. This is it. Among them, do no evil, this shows the training of higher morality. Fully practice all good, this shows the training of higher wisdom.
