"Patience is supreme," thus said the Buddha. A renunciate who harms others, who injures others, is not a contemplative. Thus it is said. That which is called patience is to be patient, namely, to accept the faults of others or to be without anger towards others. That itself is the supreme asceticism, for the sake of subduing the mind's anger and for the sake of generating compassion. The nirvana of patience is called being patient, namely, the aspects of the realm of the truth of suffering, impermanence, suffering, emptiness, selflessness, etc., the wisdom of patience, the patience of knowing the Dharma in suffering. That which is preceded or that which is indicated by it, the nirvana for the sake of patience is nirvana, namely, the nirvana attained by the path of non-contamination. "That is supreme," thus said the Buddha, namely, the nirvana of patience is the supreme of all things, thus praised by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. The nirvana attained by the worldly path is not constant, and the nirvana attained by the path of non-contamination is harmless because of its very nature of being non-constant, namely, because it is the nature of peace. How is patience the supreme asceticism? Therefore it is said, "A renunciate who harms others, who injures others, is not a contemplative." Namely, to harm others is to harm with the mind. To injure others is to injure with body and speech. A contemplative is the nature of peace. Thus it is shown, namely, for what reason harming others, injuring others, is not a complete renunciate contemplative, therefore patience is the supreme asceticism, and its fruit, the nirvana attained by patience, is also supreme, therefore it is shown that renunciates should cultivate patience. The disciples of the Bhagavat Tathagata with the crown of hair also become small in faults, because there is only an increase in the proclamation of faults by others, so that their faults can be completely cut off, the Bhagavat briefly recited the Pratimoksha Sutra in this way, every half month. The realm of those with eyes, fearful.

Thus it is, thus it is. In this world where the wise live, Sin is completely cut off. Do not slander, do not harm, The Pratimoksha should also be kept. One should also practice knowing the measure of food, One should abide in a remote place, One should strive diligently in higher mind, This is the teaching of the Buddha. Thus it is said. Among them, the one who has eyes to walk, As for the fearful places, thus it is, thus it is. What is called "the one who has eyes to walk, as for the fearful places, thus it is, thus it is," is like a person who has eyes, is not blind, and is able to walk. Because one is able to walk, one completely abandons the uneven places that are frightening, the cause of suffering, such as steep valleys, thorns, poisonous snakes, etc. In this world where the wise live, Sin is completely cut off. Thus it is said, the wise, who have wisdom, are able to distinguish and eliminate, also in this world of existence, that is, in samsara, whatever sins there are, those must be completely cut off. How should those sins be completely cut off? Therefore, Do not slander, do not harm, Thus and so on it is said, what is called not slandering, is that one should not slander others, whether it is true or untrue. What is called not harming, is that one should not harm others by beating, harsh words, etc. The Pratimoksha should also be kept. What is called the Pratimoksha, is the precepts of the seven assemblies, such as monks, which are the abandonment of killing, taking what is not given, non-celibacy, lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, etc. To keep it, is to completely guard it. One should know that this is to cultivate the higher training in morality in two ways, by the characteristic of refraining and the characteristic of practicing. One should also practice knowing the measure of food. What is called one should also practice knowing the measure of food, is like monks, for the food that can be eaten, one should also know the measure of food, one should know how much will not make the body heavy and drowsy, one should completely know that measure. One should abide in a remote place. What is called one should abide in a remote place, is to live in a remote, secluded place. One should know that this shows the conditions for cultivating the path by the good combination of body and place. One should strive diligently in higher mind. What is called striving diligently in higher mind
