The name "Perfectly Awakened Buddha" is because, with true wisdom, all knowable things, both their existence and their suchness, are completely and without error understood, and thus one becomes like awakening from sleep and a lotus blooming. The term "that" is connected to "this Pratimoksha Sutra is the teacher." "That" symbolizes the Buddha as the chief of disciplining. Buddha's disciplining is like a vast ocean. This symbolizes the meaning of what is said and also shows the greatness of the teacher and the teaching. What is included in the Sutra and what is abbreviated in the Sutra, this shows the greatness of the teaching. What is included in the Sutra refers to the Vinaya Pitaka being generally included in the Sutra Pitaka. What is abbreviated in the Sutra refers to the abbreviated meaning of the Pratimoksha Sutra. These refer to the five categories of offenses abbreviated in the Pratimoksha Sutra. The five categories of offenses are the Parajika, Sanghavasesa, Prayascittika, Pratidesaniya, and many Sikshakaranas. Whatever comes from elsewhere refers to whatever comes from other treatises in the three Pitakas. The dharmas that are in accordance with the Dharma also refer to the dharmas that are in accordance with the Dharma of Nirvana, which become the means to attain Nirvana, the discipline of definite renunciation, and also the mind and wisdom. "You" refers to the monks. "Harmony" is from the perspective of connection. "Concord" is from the perspective of the main body. "Joy" is from the perspective of the conclusion. "Guarding the mind without contention" refers to not contradicting worldly dharmas, diligently engaging in the path of higher rebirth, and showing close connection from the cause of the discipline of definite renunciation. "Practicing yoga with mindfulness and awareness" refers to not contradicting the Vinaya, diligently engaging in the definite path of goodness, and showing close connection to the result of the discipline of definite renunciation. The nature of the extensive treatise, the differentiation, inquiry, disciplining, and minor sections have been explained. 《Extensive Commentary on the Pratimoksha Sutra: A Compilation of All Vinaya》,Fiftieth Volume.

é tha ma'o. Thus, for the time being, after explaining the characteristics of the extensive teachings, the establishment and differentiation of transgressions in the context of explanations, inquiries, discipline, and miscellaneous matters, as appropriate. Now, we will explain the general teachings on discipline and the establishment of transgressions in the context of brevity. Among these, the general teachings are mostly in the context of differentiation, so we will explain them in more detail. Therefore, combining the two, loss and non-arising, with transgressions, saying "it is an evil deed," and so on. The term "loss" means defeat, referring to the completely pure state of a bhikshu, which is lost due to being irreparable. The term "non-arising" means not having received vows, because some conditions are not complete, and the two vows of śrāmaṇera and bhikshu do not arise from the beginning. Those who have lost or not arisen are associated with the five categories of transgressions and other transgressions, and constantly engage in actions that cause transgressions, and if they engage and associate with them even more, then everything becomes an evil deed. The statement "those who are not fully ordained and have renounced, also transgress what they have taken" means that those who are not fully ordained and have renounced, transgressing what they have taken as precepts is also an evil deed. The term "those who are not fully ordained and have renounced" refers to śrāmaṇeras, śrāmaṇerīs, and bhikshunīs. The term "they have taken precepts" refers to śrāmaṇeras and śrāmaṇerīs taking the ten precepts, such as abstaining from killing, and bhikshunīs taking the six dharmas and the six concordant dharmas. If they transgress or break those precepts they have taken, it is only an evil deed. The statement "what is similar to it is mental" means that transgressing what is similar to the precepts taken by those who are not fully ordained and have renounced is a mental evil deed. The term "what is similar to it" refers to those who are not fully ordained and have renounced, and the precepts taken by śrāmaṇeras, śrāmaṇerīs, and bhikshunīs, the ten precepts such as abstaining from killing, and the six dharmas and the six concordant dharmas themselves are not, but are similar to them, indicating their aspect, and are called what is similar to them.
