All transgressions that exceed the root downfalls are like a Bhikshu abiding in his own nature. One should not offer aspiration to him, but one may accept his aspiration. Bhikshus, Bhikshunis, Shramaneras, Shramanerikas, and Shikshamanas should not touch him or prostrate to him. Giving him the opportunity to seek his own nature, when he asks for forgiveness, he will attain abiding in his own nature. If he does not ask for forgiveness, then for as long as he lives, he should be given the opportunity to seek his own nature, and the rituals of practicing the giving should be taught accordingly. That alone is enough, giving him the opportunity that is in accordance with seeking his own nature, he will recognize his transgression and confess it. After that, if he recognizes his transgression and asks for forgiveness, then the arrangement for him to attain abiding in his own nature is as follows: He recognizes his transgression and asks his own Sangha for forgiveness, and the Sangha forgives him through supplication and the four karmas. After he recognizes his transgression, the arrangement for him to ask his own Sangha for forgiveness is as follows: He himself prepares the dwelling, strikes the Ghandi, and admonishes the Bhikshus with the words of inquiry, and when all the Sangha is gathered and harmonious, he takes off his two shoes, bares one shoulder, and prostrates to the elders. He squats beside the elders, joins his palms, and recites the mantra three times to supplicate. His mantra is this: Venerable Sangha, please listen. I, Bhikshu so-and-so, have been given the opportunity to seek my own nature. My hair is standing on end, my body hair is erect, I am appeasing the Sangha, coming to request, approaching with equanimity, entering within the boundary, asking for forgiveness, returning from the root of the action that caused expulsion. Compassionate, venerable Sangha, for the sake of compassion, please forgive me, Bhikshu so-and-so, for being given the opportunity to seek my own nature. It is said that it should be recited three times. After that, the arrangement for the Sangha to forgive him through supplication and the four karmas is as follows: His

After that, the action should be performed after a bhikshu makes a request. The mantra for that is as follows: Venerable sangha, please listen. The sangha has agreed to investigate the nature of the bhikshu Charka, his hair stands on end, his hair flutters, and he makes the hair of the sangha fall down. Proceed forward, similarly show closeness, enter within the boundary, ask for forgiveness, and return from the basis of the action that leads to reproach. If the time of the sangha has come and it is forgiving, then please let the sangha allow it. The sangha has forgiven the investigation of the nature of the venerable Charka. This is the request. Venerable sangha, please listen. It has been agreed to investigate the nature of the bhikshu Charka, this person's hair stands on end, his hair flutters, and he makes the hair of the sangha fall down. Proceed forward, similarly show closeness, enter within the boundary, ask for forgiveness, and return from the basis of the action that leads to reproach. Therefore, if the sangha forgives the investigation of the nature of the bhikshu Charka, then, venerable ones, those who forgive the investigation of the nature of the bhikshu Charka, those who forgive, please do not speak. Those who do not forgive, please speak. This is the first declaration of action. Similarly, repeat it twice, three times. The sangha has forgiven and allowed, the sangha has forgiven the investigation of the nature of the bhikshu Charka, like this, not speaking, therefore accept it as it is, it is said. Thus, if he sees an offense and asks for forgiveness, and obtains abiding in his own nature, then that offense should be corrected according to the Dharma. Just like that, if one cannot fully know the accompanying offense, due to the fault of one's own nature, from the dispute arising from the offense itself, for the sake of the offense, that dispute will be pacified. Thus, if one cannot fully know the accompanying offense, due to the fault of one's own nature, from the dispute arising from the offense itself, for the sake of the dispute, placing the nature of that dispute in investigation, it is certain that it is combined with attachment, and giving itself is peace. For the sake of the offense, the dispute is pacified.
