Without leaving any Sangha, all the monks are in different positions, leading to disputes. Among them, the so-called "irreparable dispute" refers to the settlement that can only be achieved through remedy by confession. This is because remedy can only be achieved through confession. For example, the debater should say: 'Venerable, you have committed an offense, please repent according to the Dharma.' If remedy is achieved only through confession, then the dispute can be settled without relying on other remedies. Therefore, the so-called "irreparable dispute" refers to the settlement that can only be achieved through remedy by confession. The so-called "two kinds of short-lived disputes that can be remedied" refer to the settlement that can only be achieved through remedy by direct subjugation. This is because remedy must be achieved through direct subjugation. For example, arguing in front of the impartial, the debaters and those who follow them debate, and the words of acceptance and rejection appear directly, then for those who should be subdued, giving direct subjugation, through remedy, the dispute can be settled. Therefore, the so-called "two kinds of short-lived disputes that can be remedied" refer to the settlement that can only be achieved through remedy by direct subjugation. Here, it should be known that through direct subjugation, the dispute caused by the essence of discipline, that is, the short-lived offense, the dispute caused by the offense, needs to be argued in front of the impartial, the debaters and those who follow them debate, and the words of acceptance and rejection appear directly, then for those who should be subdued, giving direct subjugation, through remedy, the dispute can be settled. The so-called dispute related to all the Sangha refers to the settlement that can only be achieved through remedy by spreading grass. This is because remedy must be achieved through spreading grass by all the Sangha. For example, the Sangha from both sides, for example, like spreading grass, like putting heads together, concentrate their minds, from that basis, what offense have you committed

is, and whatever transgressions we have committed, we confess before the venerable ones, without concealing them, and we are willing to do so, and by mentioning the name and type of transgression, to make others understand the nature of the transgression, etc., for matters that should be done with one mind, like spreading grass, by giving alms, by remedying, the dispute will be pacified, therefore, disputes related to all the Sangha, like spreading grass, can be pacified by remedying. The arrangement here should be done as follows: all the monks are situated on one side and the other side, therefore, the Sangha that has fallen into dispute, from both sides, for example, spreading grass, like heads touching each other, concentrate their minds, from this basis, whatever transgressions you have committed, and whatever transgressions we have committed, we confess before the venerable ones, without concealing them, and we are willing to do so, and by mentioning the name and type of transgression, to make others understand the nature of the transgression that has occurred, etc., for matters that should be done with one mind, like spreading grass, by giving alms, through the mantra of remedy, recite three times each from both sides, and remedy it in this way. That mantra is as follows: Venerable ones, we have renounced the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, and then fought, exposed each other's faults, argued, split, and remained, situated on one side and the other side, this is what we have not found, not found. Found faults, not found merits.

From this (pacification), whatever downfalls you have, and whatever downfalls we have, before those who are endowed with life, I confess, I repent, I do not conceal, confessing and repenting, I will touch bliss and abide, not confessing and not repenting, it will not be so. Recite three times. Have you seen the downfalls? I have seen them. Will you guard them in the future? I will guard them. It is said that this is recited three times. In this regard, if one side does so, the other side should also follow suit and do the same for them. In this regard, for the sake of many people, gross offenses, as well as Saṃghāvaśeṣa and gross and heavy offenses belonging to Saṃghāvaśeṣa, except for those offenses that should be confessed to the Saṃgha, the downfalls that should be confessed to a person who is not a Saṃgha can be purified by one person spreading grass to another. Here, for the sake of many people, many downfalls can also be purified all at once. For those who have committed downfalls but do not admit "I have not committed downfalls," and those who have not committed downfalls but admit "I have committed downfalls," this is doing what is not Dharma, so repentance is repentance. Thus, if one knows that one has downfalls, then the disputes arising from the very nature of having downfalls due to one's own nature's faults, the three types of disputes, namely the irreconcilable disputes, and the two types of reconcilable disputes, namely the temporary disputes, and the disputes related to all the Saṃgha, these should be acknowledged, and they are pacified by means of direct discipline and purification by spreading grass, etc. 《Extensive Commentary on the Prātimokṣa Sūtra: A Compilation from All the Vinaya》, forty-ninth fascicle. Now, if one does not know that one has downfalls, then the disputes arising from the very nature of having downfalls due to one's own nature's faults, spreading disputes, arguing for the sake of downfalls, placing the very nature of that argument in seeking, combining it with certain holding, and pacifying it with giving, will be explained, and the arrangement of its order is as follows: the hair of the speaker, and the appointment of the speaker, and the speaking by the speaker, asking the four great (matters), admitting, and forgetting after admitting, placing the very nature of that (dispute) in seeking.
