If two people sit with their buttocks touching within a distance of one cubit, it becomes the basis for the downfall of sitting alone. There is no fault for a woman or young woman who is capable of engaging in impure conduct and practicing sexual dharma. There is no fault for a woman alone. There is no fault for a monk alone. There is no fault for a secluded place due to the absence of people's comings and goings. The five protections, namely being protected by a wall, being protected by mist, being protected by a curtain, being protected by thick fog, and being protected by darkness, there is no fault in these. There is no fault in being within a distance of one cubit or closer. There is no fault in sitting with both buttocks touching. The agents here are: when sitting with buttocks touching, a woman alone, and a secluded place due to the absence of people's comings and goings, and a place with protection, and a distance of one cubit, these are the agents. Here, if the limbs are complete, it becomes a fundamental downfall, namely, for a human woman or young woman capable of engaging in impure conduct and practicing sexual dharma, being alone, and a secluded place due to the absence of people's comings and goings, and a place with protection, and a distance of one cubit, and sitting with both buttocks touching. If these limbs are incomplete, then it should be confessed. The downfall of preparation is a misdeed, namely, as long as one begins the preparation for the downfall of sitting alone, until one does not reach the basis, it is a misdeed. For each different preparation made without combining with the basis, each one is a misdeed. For a human woman who is not capable of engaging in impure conduct and practicing sexual dharma, it is a misdeed. For a non-human female being and a female animal, it is a misdeed. For a bhikkhuni, it is a misdeed. For a female renunciate who has not taken full ordination, it is a misdeed. Being farther than a distance of one cubit is a misdeed. One or both standing is a misdeed. The downfall of the preparation of preparation is a subtle misdeed, as many preparations as there are, so many preparations of preparation there are, the preparation of the misdeed of preparation is also a misdeed, it is a subtle misdeed. The absence of downfall is, in which door is one sitting.

Also, there is no offense in causing to grind medicine, or staying in retreat, and other entering and other arising. There is no offense for those not protected by these five protections. There is no offense for relatives. There is no offense for beginners, or the insane, or the mentally disturbed, or those afflicted by feelings. What is to be learned is that a bhikshu should learn not to rely on all aspects of conduct that become an offense of solitary dwelling in all places and at all times. The method of restoration is the same as before. This twenty-eighth offense of solitary dwelling has been explained. The basis of the offense of walking alone is: The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in Shravasti in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park. When Sbedma had gone forth and was managing the monastery, the bhikshunis, in the morning, having put on their lower garments, taken their bowls and robes, went for alms. Sbedma was sweeping in the temple. The venerable Acharaka also, in the morning, having put on his lower garments, taken his bowl and robes, entered Shravasti for alms. While wandering for alms in Shravasti, she went to the place where the bhikshunis' summer residence was. Sbedma saw the venerable Acharaka from afar, and having seen him, she said, "Venerable Acharaka, it is good that you have come! It is good that you have come!" Having said this, she put the broom aside, prostrated at the two feet of the venerable Acharaka, and stood in front of him. Acharaka taught her the Dharma as much as he could, and then began to recall the laughter, play, joy, and various pleasures of the past, saying, "Sbedma, do you remember? We two in the garden, in the meeting place and in some heavenly realm, prepared such and such things, ate such and such food, drank such and such drinks, arranged such and such dwellings, lit such and such butter lamps, and we did such and such things there?" Sbedma said, "I remember." At that time, there was an old, sick bhikshuni there, and she thought, "Why haven't these two been together since they were engaged?"
