Then he had about five hundred Brahmins recite curses. After some time, that Brahmin was playing with his wife, enjoying all kinds of pleasures, and his wife became pregnant. When it was time for her to give birth, the Brahmin called an old woman, and she came. Soon, his wife gave birth to a boy, and the old woman bathed the boy, wrapped him in white cloth, filled his mouth with melted butter, and handed him to a girl. He said to the girl: Daughter, take this boy to the crossroads of the main road. If you see a monk or a Brahmin, respectfully bow down to him. Say to him: This boy bows down to the feet of the noble ones. When the sun sets, if he is still alive, bring him back. If he dies, bury him there. That girl was a foolish and lazy person, so she took the boy and went to sit on a small path. The heretics often did this, getting up early in the morning to go to the water's edge for ritual ablutions, so those heretics who were going to the water's edge for ritual ablutions arrived there, and the girl respectfully bowed down to them, saying: Noble ones, this boy bows down to the feet of the noble ones. They said: May you live long, may you exist long, may the wishes of your parents be fulfilled. The girl saw that the sun was setting and the boy was still alive, so she took him home. They asked the girl: Is the boy still alive? The girl said: Alive. They said: Where did you hold him? On a certain small path. They said: What is this boy's name? Because this boy was found on a small path, he was named Small Path One. Thus, his name was called Small Path One. The boy Small Path One was raised and grew up. When he grew up, if he was taught letters, when he said "Sid" he would forget "Dham", and when he said "Dham" he would forget "Sid", so his teacher said to the Brahmin:
