That person who doesn't give alms and holds onto all possessions, having developed faith, praised the seven bases of meritorious deeds arising from wealth and vowed to build a monastery. He offered Karshapanas (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) and said, "Venerable ones, although I have Karshapanas (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), I do not have a companion for merit." Upaka said, "I will be your companion for merit. In this way, allow me to be appointed as the hand of the Sangha." The Brahmins went to the monastery and requested the Sangha, and then the venerable Shariputra, who was the abbot of the Sangha, said to Upaka, "Venerable Upaka, when I had someone build Jetavana, no one appointed me as the hand. When the venerable Mahakatyayana had the delightful garden of Goshira built, no one appointed me as the hand. If you also wish to have a monastery built, let me not be appointed." Venerable Upaka thought, "We don't even like to see the black-bowled ones, how could we appoint them as the hand?" Then he went to the Brahmin, took the Karshapanas (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), and gave them to the bricklayers, stonemasons, carpenters, plasterers, painters, and foremen, giving them the Karshapanas (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思). In one day, the three-story monastery was built, without leaving the places for the door frames, the foundation, the windows, and the water spouts, just like it was polished. Then he went to that Brahmin and said, "Brahmin, your monastery is finished, come and offer it to the Sangha." The Brahmin said, "Venerable one, I have not prepared the meal today, but tomorrow I will prepare the meal and come." The Blessed One thought, "This monastery will collapse today, and if it collapses without being used, that Brahmin will vomit blood and die, such a situation will occur." Then the Blessed One had the monks who had attained the state of meditative absorption stay in that monastery during the first watch of the night.

Thereafter, the Blessed One, together with the retinue of gods such as Indra and Brahma, taught the Dharma there at midnight and then returned. In the last watch of the night, five-colored clouds gathered, and those clouds filled the temple with water, as if it were filled with washing water, and then it collapsed. The six groups of monks ate those things and fled in terror. That Brahmin also prepared food the next day and came there with a cart filled with clean food and offerings. When he saw his temple collapsed, he fainted and fell to the ground. Then, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Ananda, for that Brahmin, the Blessed One said: 'Many people build temples for the Tathagata, but those Tathagatas do not fully enjoy them. But your temple, in the night and the first watch of the night, is fully enjoyed by the elder monks. Like this, at midnight, the Blessed One and the retinue of Indra, Brahma, and others also fully enjoy it, so you have gained a good benefit.' Then, that Brahmin said to the Venerable Ananda: 'If that is so, I would also be happy to build temples like this, each with an umbrella.' The six groups of monks heard this and came there, and that Brahmin gave each of them a large piece of coarse cloth and offered them all the utensils. The six groups of monks said: 'We

Many criticized him, but he fully saw the ten benefits of establishing the precepts. Therefore, my Śrāvaka disciples should recite this basis of Vinaya training in order. If a Bhikṣu is to build a large monastery, starting from examining the ground with the intention of considering the size of the door frame, bolt, and lighting position, he should build two or three layers of brick walls with mud. If he builds more than that, he commits a transgression. He thus established the precept. The place is कौशाम्बी (Sanskrit Devanagari: कौशाम्बी, Sanskrit Romanization: kauśāmbī, meaning: Kauśāmbī), the people are six, the affliction is delighting in creating trouble, the offense is building the monastery's brick walls more than two or three layers with mud. Among these, "Bhikṣu" refers to the six, or anyone else like that. "Monastery" refers to a place where the four activities, namely walking, standing, sitting, and lying down, can be performed. "Large" refers to two kinds of large, namely the activity of giving and the size. Here, it refers to both. "To build" refers to oneself or another. "Door frame and bolt" refers to the door frame and bolt that should be installed. "With the intention of considering the size of the lighting position" refers to starting with the intention of considering the position of windows, caves, and water holes. "Starting from examining the ground, two or three layers of brick walls with mud," where "layers of brick walls" refers to the stacking of bricks. "With mud" refers to being mixed with mud. "To build" refers to placing. "If he builds more than that" refers to if he places more than that. "Commits a transgression" refers to being the same as before. So, how does a transgression arise? Here, the transgression is determined by the actual basis, the preparation, and the preparation of the preparation, and the characteristics of this are to be understood through non-transgression, what should be learned, and what is to be remedied. Among these, here, the transgression of the actual basis is determined as follows: A monastery built by a Bhikṣu, even if it can accommodate the four activities, is entirely made of stone, brick, or wood, or is made with a covering that protects from wind and rain, whether it is the property of the Sangha, an individual, or a layperson. He himself built or finished it.
