If both are of the same age, then there is no fault for either. The vicinity of the dwelling is within forty-nine cubits. For that which is not surrounded by walls, etc., it is from the root itself. For that which is surrounded, it is from any door. Beyond that, there is no fault. There are three kinds of interactions between dwellings: being turned back by the wind, rain causing other things to arrive, and hail, etc., causing other things to arrive. Whichever of these three kinds of interactions occurs, there is no fault. The place of entrustment is, except for a bhikkhu without shame, a bhikkhu with illness, an old bhikkhu, a sick bhikkhu, and a bhikkhu who has not taken full ordination, a bhikkhu who has taken full ordination and dwells naturally, entrusting to one who is of the same view and name, these five cases are: named "this monastery," named "look at the monastery," named "this dwelling," named "tidy up the dwelling," and named "close the latch," there is no fault if none of these are done. There is no fault in going for the sake of alms. There is no fault if either or both of becoming mutual and exceeding the boundary of the vicinity. The agent of this is the monastic dwelling itself, or like being appointed to be placed without concealment, is the agent. This has five limbs that become a fundamental offense: the monastic dwelling itself, or being appointed to be placed without concealment, not tidying up or not allowing to tidy up, not entrusting to a bhikkhu to dwell, exceeding the vicinity, or sleeping there, or entering into meditative absorption, etc., or the three kinds of interactions between each other, being turned back by the wind, rain causing other things to arrive, or hail, etc., causing other things to arrive, whichever occurs. If these limbs are not complete, then there is a fault accordingly. The offense of preparation is a misdeed, as long as the preparation for the offense of the dwelling is started until the fundamental is not reached, it is a misdeed. For the fundamental, however many different preparations are made, each one is a misdeed. For the dwelling of an individual, it is a misdeed. For the monastic dwelling of a bhikkhuni, it is a misdeed. In front of exceeding the boundary of mutual and vicinity, it is the misdeed of preparation.

So. Actions are similar to doing, so when using with others simultaneously, the one who stood up earlier commits a minor offense. If both stand up at the same time, the older one commits a minor offense. Entrusting to an object, entrusting to a shameless monk, a sick monk, an old monk, an ill monk, and those who have not received full ordination, commits a minor offense. The five ways of entrusting, such as saying "The monastery is this one," "Look after the monastery," "The dwelling is this one," "Tidy up the dwelling," "Close the latch," etc., for not explicitly stating any of these, a minor offense is committed. During a temporary period, even while others are residing, if they change mutually, a minor offense is committed. For all (improper) actions, a minor offense is committed. Transgressing what should be learned, a minor offense is committed. The transgression of an action is a minor offense; as many actions as there are, so many are the transgressions of actions; the transgression, the transgression of the transgression of an offense is also an offense, it is a minor offense. There is no downfall when covering or causing to be covered. There is no downfall when there is an entrusted monk. For gold and other precious things that a monk should not touch, placing them without covering, not covering or not causing to be covered, and then leaving, there is no downfall. There is no downfall for fear and encounters such as threats to discipline and life. There is no downfall for beginners, the insane, the mentally disturbed, and those afflicted by feelings. What should be learned is that a monk, in all places and at all times, should learn not to rely on all ways that become causes of downfall for dwellings. Walking to go beyond the vicinity, and sleeping there, and entering into samadhi, etc., should not be done, one should learn. One should cover and cause to be covered. One should entrust to a residing monk. One should not entrust to a shameless monk, a sick monk, an old monk, an ill monk, and those who have not received full ordination. One should do any of the five ways of entrusting. One should spread the covering and then go for alms, and if wind and rain come, those residing in the monastery should cover it.
