In a secluded monastery, there lived an ascetic, and many birds gathered at his abode, making noisy sounds. Since sound is an obstacle to meditation, the ascetic was unable to attain concentration due to the sounds of the many birds. Another ascetic said to him, "If you don't want those birds to come here anymore, on the night of the twenty-ninth, light a grass lamp and go to the trees, saying, 'Eat the gatekeeper! Eat the children!' After saying this, they will not come again in the future." He began to do so, and the birds thought, "Has this ascetic gone mad?" When the children of those birds grew wings, they flew away and never came again, and eventually they all disappeared without a trace. Monks, even those beings born as animals, if they are excessively demanded from, will disappear without a trace, let alone humans? Therefore, monks should not demand excessively. If they demand excessively, it will cause serious violations." After saying this, the Blessed One, based on this event and this origin, and this occasion, convened the monastic community of monks and severely rebuked the behavior of Fish Joy after being injured, which was not like a monk, not in accordance, not proper, not in accordance with the rules, and not something that a renunciant should do. He saw the ten benefits of establishing precepts, so my Shravaka disciples should recite and study the root of discipline in this way: Any monk who possesses invited food for more than four months commits a downfall. The Blessed One thus established the precepts. The place was Kapilavastu. The offenders were the Six Group monks. The affliction was greed. The offense was excessive demanding of invited food. The origin of permission was that the Blessed One stayed in Gamsuji in Kapilavastu, traveled separately to Rajagriha, and finally, when traveling to Rajagriha, stayed in the Bamboo Grove Garden Kalandaka in Rajagriha. King Bimbisara of Magadha, skilled and wise, heard this and thought:

Kyamingchen invited the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks for four months with all necessities, and I also invited the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks many times to other houses for meals at umbrella time. Sometimes I did not invite with all necessities, but I thought that I invited the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks for four months with all necessities. Then, the king of Magadha, Zosyong Zukchen Nyingpo, went to where the Blessed One was, and after arriving, he bowed his head to the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. After sitting down on one side, the Blessed One taught the king of Magadha, Zosyongchen Nyingpo, with Dharma-related teachings, made him understand, made him happy, and made him very happy. In many ways, he taught with Dharma-related teachings, made him understand, made him happy, and after making him very happy, he did not say anything. Then, the king of Magadha, Zosyong Zukchen Nyingpo, rose from his seat, folded his palms towards the Blessed One, and said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, please allow the Sangha of monks to accept my clothes, food, lodging, medicine for illness, and medicine supplies for four months. The Blessed One did not say anything to the king of Magadha, Zosyong Zukchen Nyingpo, and thus allowed it. Then, the king of Magadha, Zosyong Zukchen Nyingpo, knowing that the Blessed One had allowed it by not saying anything, bowed his head to the feet of the Blessed One, and left from the presence of the Blessed One, and had a house built suitable for the sick, and also had medicine for the sick placed. He had comfortable medicine placed that was suitable for the time, medicine suitable for taking at intervals, medicine that could be used within seven days, medicine that could be used until life, as well as root medicine, stem medicine, leaf medicine, flower medicine, and fruit medicine. He also had refined butter and unrefined butter placed.

They also allowed boiled and unboiled butter to be placed. Cows and female buffaloes, as well as riding goats, were also allowed to be placed. All utensils were also allowed to be placed. Doctors and nurses were also allowed to be placed. The monks also put on all the utensils. At that time, a Brahmin, the husband of the sister of the venerable Piliṅgavatsa, heard that the Blessed One was traveling among the Shakyas, and came to Rajagriha, and was staying in the Bamboo Grove, the Kalandaka Bird Sanctuary in Rajagriha. Having heard this, he thought to himself: The great men of the Shakyas invited the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks to accept all offerings for four months. I have also invited the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks to other people's houses many times to accept offerings, but they have never accepted all offerings. I think I will also invite the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks to accept all offerings for four months. Then, that Brahmin went to the Blessed One, and after arriving, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat down to one side. Having sat down to one side, the Blessed One taught that Brahmin with a Dhamma-related discourse, made him believe, made him rejoice, and made him delight. In various ways, he taught him with a Dhamma-related discourse, made him believe, made him rejoice, and made him delight, and then he remained silent. Then, that Brahmin rose from his seat, went to where the Blessed One was, and with his palms joined together respectfully, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, would it be permissible for the Sangha of monks to accept from me for four months robes, alms food, lodging, medicine for the sick, and all medicinal supplies? The Blessed One said: Brahmin, I was first invited by King Bimbisara Srenika of Magadha. That Brahmin thought: The venerable Piliṅgavatsa is my relative, if I invite him, he might allow it. So he went to him,
