Now, the reality of becoming one has no diminution. The agent of this is the unimpaired faculties of both bodies, and the mind that causes shuddering. In this, it is through five limbs that it becomes a real downfall: the other person being a bhikshu, the unimpaired faculties of both bodies, and the mind of pervasive attachment and hatred, or the mind that is not those two, but the mind that causes shuddering itself, and any limb of the body such as a finger, and the touch itself. If the limbs are not complete among those, then it is diminished accordingly. The downfall of the action is an evil deed: as long as one starts to perform the action of the downfall of rubbing, until one does not reach the reality, it is an evil deed. For the reality, for each different action that is performed, each one is an evil deed. Touching one's own or another's or both's impaired bodily faculties themselves is an evil deed. Touching what is not a body with what is not a body, and touching with hair and nails and teeth, is an evil deed. Being separated by clothes and the like is an evil deed. The downfall of the action of the action is a minor evil deed: as many actions as there are, so many are the actions of the action, and the action of the action of the evil deed is also an evil deed, that is, a minor evil deed. There is no downfall for wounds and mosquitoes, and pimples and moles, and showing tufts of hair. There is no downfall for touching with a mind without pervasive attachment that is not in the form of causing shuddering. Touching with a mind endowed with pervasive desire becomes an offense belonging to the Sanghavasesa, but there is no downfall in this case. Touching with a mind endowed with hatred becomes an offense belonging to killing and beating, but there is no downfall in this case. There is no downfall for the first-time offender, the insane, the mentally disturbed, and those who are afflicted by feelings. What is to be learned is that a bhikshu should learn not to rely on all forms of what becomes a downfall of rubbing in all places and at all times. The remedy is the same as before. The downfall of rubbing, that sixty-third, has been explained. The chapter on the downfall of playing in the water

The origin of the story is that the Buddha, the World Honored One, was residing in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park, in Shravasti. At that time, the Venerable Upavāna, one of the seventeen groups, having abandoned all defilements, directly realized the state of an Arhat. Then, he thought: Do I have any roots of virtue for these practitioners of pure conduct? He saw that he did. Thinking: On whom does it depend? He saw that it depended on himself. The other sixteen needed to be tamed, and they followed him like shadows. They said: Venerable ones, for the sake of fetching water, we will discard things on the bank of the Ganges River and bathe there as well. So they took water strainers and water pots and went to where the Ganges River was. They said: Venerable ones, how should we bathe? Should we strain the water? They said: We should strain the water and then bathe underneath. So they strained the water, took off all their clothes, and began to bathe, entering the water. They would sometimes rise to the surface and sometimes sink to the bottom. Sometimes they would go from this bank to that bank, and sometimes they would come from that bank to this bank. Sometimes they would go with the current, and sometimes they would go against the current. Sometimes they would make loud noises in the water, and sometimes they would make sounds like a one-sided drum. Sometimes they would splash water, and sometimes they would throw water. Sometimes they would make circles and vajra-like shapes in the water. Sometimes they would dig wells, dig trenches, and draw water channels in the water. Sometimes they would play, jump, and turn their bodies in the water. The Venerable Upavāna also knowingly bathed, crossed the Ganges River, put on his Dharma robes, and sat down. At that time, King Prasenajit of Kosala, while on the foundation of the upper story of his palace, was sitting with Queen Mallika, and he saw the seventeen groups playing in the water. Having seen them, he said to Queen Mallika: Mallika, look, look at the beauty of these ascetics! Mallika said: My lord, that is not so surprising, for they are young and practicing pure conduct!
