Bathing. The third is that the people of the town and the villagers bathe. King of Magadha, Industrious-Shaped-Heart (name of the king) thought: Like this, I have offered all kinds of materials to the Blessed One and the Sangha of Hearers in various ways, but I have not offered bathing, so I should also offer bathing. After thinking like this, He reported to the Blessed One: Venerable, there are three hot springs here in Rajagriha (王舍城), wherever I bathe, the saints also bathe; wherever the attendants and retinue bathe, please let the holy mothers bathe. The Six Groups arose with this thought: Ananda, Near Joy (names of two venerable ones), King Industrious-Shaped-Heart of Magadha is faithful, but let's see what kind of faith he has, let's go bathing. So they went there to bathe, and they said: Ananda, Near Joy, if we all bathe together, we can finish quickly, two people bathe, and four people help. After that, two more people bathe, and four people help. Let's do it like this. Among them, two people started bathing, and four people helped and sat. At that time, King Industrious-Shaped-Heart of Magadha also went there to bathe, and sent someone who did not belong to the secret department to observe who was bathing now. When that person saw the Six Groups bathing, the king set up a seat there and sat down. After a while, after a long time, he sent someone to observe again, and it was still the same. The king said: Wise ones, then you have been hindering me for a long time, I will bathe with water and the bathing of empowerment. They took water, and the king bathed there with the bathing of empowerment, and then went to where the Blessed One was, and after arriving, he bowed to the Blessed One's feet with his head, and left from the presence of the Blessed One without listening to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Ananda, and then the matter of King Shaped-Heart and the Six Groups hindering was reported in detail. Then, the Blessed One thought like this: What fault has occurred slightly?

Because the monks were bathing, the monks thought that they should not bathe. Then, the Blessed One gathered the community of monks because of this event, this origin, and this occasion, and rebuked the group of six monks, saying: 'It is not the act of a renunciant, it is not in accordance with (the Dharma), it is not proper, it is not in accordance with the Vinaya, this is not something that a renunciant should do.' He rebuked them in various ways, and having truly seen the ten benefits of establishing the training, therefore my hearers should recite the basis of training in the Vinaya as follows: 'If a monk violates the rule of bathing every half month as stated by the Blessed One, he commits a Patayantika offense.' The place where the training was established was Rajagriha (mid-6th century BC to 5th century AD), the people were the group of six monks, the affliction was dispute, and the offense was bathing with the water of Rajagriha. The origin of the permission is that the Buddha, the Blessed One, was staying in the Kalanda grove in the Bright Garden in Rajagriha. The Blessed One said that the monks should not bathe, and from then on the monks did not bathe, and those bodies were covered with filth and became dirty, and the Brahmins and householders said: 'Who are these dirty people?' The monks said: 'It is us.' 'Venerable ones, why do you not bathe?' 'The Blessed One does not allow it.' 'Do you think that you will become pure by holding onto filth?' When they said this, the monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: 'Therefore, it is allowed to bathe every half month.' After the Blessed One said that it was allowed to bathe every half month, when the hot season arrived, the monks were troubled by the heat, and those people became pale, emaciated, weak, and unable to support their necks and bodies, and the faithful Brahmins and householders said: 'Venerable ones, why have you become like this?' The monks said: 'Troubled by the heat.' 'Why do you not bathe?' 'The Blessed One does not allow it.' When they said this, the monks reported to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said: 'Therefore, the heat
