There was a man who, when selling goods, thought, 'I can enjoy happiness with my wife,' and had an improper thought. He began to collect his goods. The venerable Charka, knowing his thought, thought, 'I will go and see.' He first went to that man's house and stood in the shadow behind the door. After that, the young incense seller came, and he took his wife and entered the room. The girl saw Charka standing in a secluded place and said to her husband, 'The son of the king, the noble Charka, is standing behind the door.' The young incense seller said, 'The noble Charka is meditating in the temple, experiencing the bliss of liberation and samadhi, that's why he is standing.' He enjoyed happiness with his wife, and when he was completely free from entanglement, he saw Charka. He began to insult the practitioners of the Shakya clan: 'The behavior of practitioners is false! The behavior of Brahmins is false! Like this, even one's own wife cannot be controlled.' He insulted, threw things, and spoke abusive words. 'Monks, why do monks knowingly stand in a house where sexual activity may occur, in a secluded place?' He insulted, threw things, and spoke abusive words. At that time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, because of this event, this origin, this occasion, gathered the Sangha of monks and rebuked Charka: 'This is not the behavior of a practitioner! Not in accordance! Not proper! Not in accordance with the rules! This is not something that a renunciant should do!' He rebuked in various ways, and because he saw the ten benefits of establishing precepts, he said: 'My Shravakas, the basis for learning the Vinaya should be recited and learned in this way: If any monk knowingly stands in a house where sexual activity may occur, in a secluded place, he commits a Patayantika offense.' Thus the precept was established. The place was Shravasti. The person was Charka. The affliction was the secondary affliction of desire. The offense was knowingly being in a house where sexual activity may occur.

Standing in a secluded and protected place. "That" refers to a Bhikshu, or any similar situation. "Knowingly" means that he himself is aware of it, or is told by others. "Preparing to engage in sexual intercourse" means that a woman is the object of a man's sexual intercourse, and a man is the object of a woman's sexual intercourse. "In a house" refers to the house of a Brahmin or householder. "Secluded place" means a place where there are no women, men, or other hermaphrodites. "Protected" means protected by five things: protected by a wall, protected by a curtain, protected by a screen, protected by thickets, and protected by a sign. "Standing" means standing within a fathom. "Committing an offense" is the same as before. Previously, the offense of sitting in a house preparing for sexual intercourse has been explained, and here the offense of standing in a house preparing for sexual intercourse is explained; the common characteristics of these two are the same. The difference is that the former distinguishes the place of sitting with obvious desire, while the latter distinguishes the place of standing with desire for a secluded and protected place. So, how does an offense occur? Here, too, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of this place by distinguishing the offense, non-offense, what should be learned, and remedial measures through the main action, the preparatory action, and the preparatory action of the preparatory action. Among them, the distinction of the offense of the main action here refers to the fact that the Bhikshu is not dominated by fear, nor is he focused on other places, but is like a married man and woman within the scope of behavior that can be seen in other places, and in the absence of other people, in a situation where intercourse is possible, knowingly desiring a secluded and protected place, standing and engaging in intercourse, both the feeling place and the feeler, and the feeler himself who produces the offense, constitute the main action of the offense of standing in a house preparing for sexual intercourse. If the Bhikshu is not dominated by fear, nor is he focused on other places, then there is no fault. If a Bhikshu is afraid of elephants, etc., and
