What should be learned is that a monk should learn without showing all the situations in which using water containing living beings in all places and at all times will cause a downfall. Water containing living beings should be well filtered. For this purpose, a hanging water filter should be held. What is this hanging water filter like? It is like three wooden sticks like a quiver, connected with iron nails at the top crossing point, the three roots separated and inserted into the ground, and then fixed with iron nails at its waist, and made of good cloth to hold water and filter it, and hold it. Underneath it, place containers such as bottles to catch the water dripping from the filter on the ground. Fill the filter with water using other water containers, and catch the water dripping from the filter with a water catcher, which is called a hanging filter. After filtering the water with the filter, in order to prevent the living beings in the hanging filter from dying, the water should remain in the hanging filter, so a filter mat should be placed. What is this filter mat like? Anything, whether sand or heavy objects, can be placed in the mat. Alternatively, a filter mat means placing it in a filter support container.
