Seventeen sections or anything similar to that. The term "untimely" refers to two untimely times: before dawn and after noon. The terms "chewing" or "eating" refer to the five types of chewing and the five types of food. The terms "swallowing" or "devouring" refer to swallowing into the throat. The term "offense" refers to being like the fifth. So, how does one become subject to an offense? Here, too, one should understand the definition here through the main action, the training, and the establishment of offenses by the preparatory action, the absence of offense, what should be learned, and the remedial measures. Among these, the establishment of the offense of the main action is that if a monk, knowing that in Jambudvipa and other places, from the place where he resides, from after noon until the first light of dawn the next day, knowingly chews or eats food, it constitutes the offense of eating at an untimely hour as the main action. For a non-monk, there is no fault. In Jambudvipa and other places, the place where the monk resides, from after noon until the first light of dawn the next day, that time is not the time for the monk's food, so there is no fault at any time during that period. No matter where one resides in the four continents such as Jambudvipa, there is no fault in eating at an untimely hour. In the heavens and the evil realms, there is no fault in establishing it through conceptualization. There is no fault in eating at an untimely hour with mistaken perception or doubt. There is no fault for any food belonging to the five types of chewing and the five types of food. There is no fault in swallowing it. The agent here mainly refers to the one who has a strong awareness of the untimely hour itself. This offense is constituted by five branches as the offense of the main action: non-monk, untimely hour, awareness of it, and eating suitable food. If these branches are incomplete, there will be faults accordingly. The offense of the preparatory action is a misdeed, that is, as long as one has started the preparatory action of the offense of eating at an untimely hour, until one touches the main action, it is a misdeed. For the main action, each time a different preparatory action is performed, one more misdeed is added. Regarding time, if one mistakes it for an untimely hour, or

Having eaten twice, one commits a transgression. Having eaten what is not suitable to eat, one commits a transgression. The transgression of combination is a minor transgression; as many combinations as there are, so many combinations of combinations there are; the combination of the transgression of combination is also a transgression, it is a transgression, it is a minor transgression. There is no transgression for a sick monk. There is no transgression at that time. There is no transgression for one who is unconscious there. There is no transgression for things other than food suitable for that time, such as fruits, jaggery, honey, haritaki, drinks, and things suitable for a set time, etc., which are suitable at an improper time. There is no transgression for not having eaten and not having swallowed down the throat. There is no transgression for a beginner, one who is insane, one who is mentally disturbed, and one who is afflicted by feelings. What is to be learned is that a monk should learn not to rely on all actions that become a cause of transgression for eating at an improper time in all places at all times. A sick monk should rely on food that is suitable as indicated by a doctor. The remedy is the same as the previous five. The thirty-seventh transgression of eating at an improper time has been explained. The basis for the transgression of hoarding is that the Buddha, the Bhagavan, was staying in Jeta's Grove, Anathapindika's Monastery, in Shravasti (located in present-day Uttar Pradesh). The conduct of the venerable Black was that, whichever village or town he relied on and resided near, on the fifth morning he would put on his lower garment and robes, take his bowl and Dharma robes, and enter that village or town, with his body very guarded, his senses very guarded, and his mindfulness very closely established, he would go for alms, and if he found wet rice, he would take it with his bowl. If he found dry rice, he would take it with the container of his bowl, and after begging for alms in that village or town, he would go to the monastery, eat the wet rice, dry the dry rice, fill a clay pot and store it, and when wind arose, or bad things happened, or rain fell, or wind arose, he would soak the dry rice with warm water and eat it, and then enter into meditation, liberation, and samadhi.
