ཅུག །ཡང་དག་པར་གཟེངས་བསྟོད། །ཡང་དག་པར་རབ་ཏུ་དགའ་བར་བྱས་ནས་ཅང་མི་སྨྲའོ། །དེ་ནས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་སྟན་ལས་ལྔས་ཏེ། བླ་གོས་ཕྲག་པ་གཅིག་ཏུ་བྱས་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་ རིའི་བུ་ག་ལ་དེ་ལོགས་སུ་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་བ་བཏུད་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་དེའི་བུ་སང་བདག་ཤི་སྡུམ་པར་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་དང་ཐབས་ཅིག་ཏུ་གདུགས་ཚོད་གསོལ་བར་ཅི་གནང༌། ཚོ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེ་ལ་ཅང་མི་སྨྲ་བས་དང་དུ་བླངས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་ངེས་དེ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མཚན་མོ་བཅའ་བ་དང་བཟའ་བ་གཙང་ཞིང་བསོད་པ་སྟ་གོན་བྱས་ནས། ནང་པར་སྔར་ལངས་ཏེ་སྟན་བཤམས་ནས། ཆུ་ར་ནོར་བུ་ཅན་བཞག་སྟེ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་སྤྱན་འདྲེན་གྱིས་བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་གདུགས་ཚོད་གཡར་དགོངས་འཚལ་ན། བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་ད་དེའི་དུས་ལ་བབ་པར་དགོངས་སུ་གསོལ་ཞེས་བསྐུལ་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་སྔ་དྲོ་ཤམ་ཐབས་བགོས་ལྟུང་བཟེད་དང་ཆོས་གོས་ཐོགས་ཏེ། དགེ་སློང་གི་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་ཡོངས་སུ་བསྐོར་ཅིང༌། དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་གྱིས་མདུན་དུ་བདར་ནས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེའི་ཁྱིམ་ག་ལ་བ་དེར་སོང་སྟེ་ཕྱིན་ནས་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་གྱི་གུང་ལ་གདན་བཤམས་པ་ཉིད་ལ་འདུག་གོ །དེ་ནས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལ་སོགས་པ་དགེ་སློང་གི་དགེ་འདུན་བདེ་བར་འདུག་བར་རིག་ནས། བཅའ་བ་དང་བཟའ་བ་གཏང་ཞིང་བསོད་པས་རང་གི་ལག་ནས་ཚིམ་པར་བྱེད་ཅིང་སྟོབས་པར་བྱེད་དོ། །རྣམ་གྲངས་དུ་མར་བཅའ་བ་དང་བཟའ་བ་གཙང་ཞིང་བསོད་པས་རང་གི་ལག་ནས་ཚིམ་པར་བྱས་ཤིང་བསྟབས་ཏེ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ཟན་ཟོས་ཤིང་ལག་པ་བསྙལ། ལྟུང་བཟེད་བཞག་པར་རིག་ནས་སྟན་ཆེས་དམའ་བ་ཞིག་བླངས་ཏེ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུའི་མདུན་དུ་ཆོས་མཉན་པའི་ཕྱིར་འདུག་གོ །འདུག་ནས་ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །བཙུན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ཆོས་བསྟན་དུ་གསོལ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱིམ་བདག་དེའི་ཕྱིར་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ས་ཕྱོགས་གོ་སྐབས་ཡངས་པར་སྟན་འདིང་དུ་ཆུག་ལ། རི་བྲགས་འདིར་སྐྱེ་བོ་ཕལ་པོ་ཆེའི་ཚོགས་ལ་སང་འཕགས་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ཆོས་སྟོན་པར་འགྱུར་གྱི། ཁྱེད་ཅག་ལས་གང་ཆོས་ཉན་བར་འདོད་པ་དེ་ཤོག་ཤིག་ཅེས་དྲིལ་བསྒྲགས་པ་བྱེད་དུ་ཆུག་ཤིག །དེ་ནས་ཚོ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་ཡོན་བཤད་པ་བྱས་ནས་སྟན་ལས་ལངས་ཏེ་སོང་ངོ༌

And then. He praised correctly. Having rejoiced correctly and exceedingly, he said nothing. Then, that householder rose from his seat, placed his upper garment on one shoulder, and with his palms joined together, bowed towards the Venerable Śāriputra, and said this to the Venerable Śāriputra: "Venerable Śāriputra, tomorrow I would like to offer a meal to the Saṃgha of monks in Śīstaduma. What do you think?" The Venerable Śāriputra accepted without saying anything to the householder. Then, that householder prepared clean and delicious food and drink that very night. The next morning, he got up early, prepared the seats, and placed water pitchers filled with jewels. Inviting the Venerable Śāriputra, he said: "Venerable Śāriputra, it is time for the meal." The Venerable Śāriputra urged, "Now is the time." Then, the Venerable Śāriputra, in the morning, having put on his lower garment, taken his bowl and Dharma robes, surrounded by the Saṃgha of monks, and with the Saṃgha of monks leading the way, went to the house of that householder, and having arrived, sat down on the seats prepared for the Saṃgha of monks. Then, that householder, knowing that the Venerable Śāriputra and the Saṃgha of monks were seated comfortably, served clean and delicious food and drink, satisfying and strengthening them with his own hands. In various ways, he satisfied and strengthened them with clean and delicious food and drink, serving them with his own hands. The Venerable Śāriputra finished his meal, washed his hands, and knowing that the bowl was put away, took a very low seat and sat down in front of the Venerable Śāriputra to listen to the Dharma. Having sat down, that householder said this to the Venerable Śāriputra: "Venerable Śāriputra, please teach the Dharma." The Venerable Śāriputra said: "Householder, for your sake, you should have a spacious place prepared. Here at this rocky mountain, it will be proclaimed to a large gathering of people: 'Tomorrow, the noble Śāriputra will teach the Dharma. Whoever among you wishes to listen to the Dharma, come!'" Then, the Venerable Śāriputra, having spoken words of rejoicing, rose from his seat and departed.

That householder was famous for that cliff, so he had a spacious area prepared. At that cliff, he announced to the large crowd: 'Tomorrow the venerable Śāriputra will teach the Dharma, so whoever among you wants to hear the Dharma, come! Whoever among you has not seen the truth there, he must wander in samsara for a long time.' Then, the next day, the venerable Śāriputra went to that direction, and in the assembly of monks, sat on the seat that had been prepared. Countless beings gathered there, some out of curiosity, and some driven by the roots of past virtues. The venerable Śāriputra, knowing the thoughts, habits, dispositions, and nature of that assembly, in this way, the householder and his retinue, and twelve thousand beings saw the truth, some attained the fruit of stream-entry, some attained the fruit of once-returner, some attained the fruit of non-returner, some went forth, abandoning all defilements, and attained the state of Arhat. Some generated the mind of Śrāvakabodhi, some generated the mind of Pratyekabuddhabodhi, some generated the mind of unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, and in this way taught the Dharma, causing most of that assembly to incline towards the Buddha, to turn towards the Dharma, and to turn towards the Sangha. The venerable Śāriputra taught the Dharma for so long that the umbrella tilted and the wind blew from behind him. That householder said: 'Venerable Śāriputra, please stay in my dwelling, and I will provide you with the necessities for alms.' The venerable Śāriputra said: 'Householder, it is relying on you that the Blessed One has established the basis for the Śrāvakas to learn in the discipline, I am going.'
