If the branch of the house is not complete with two, it is not permissible, and with disputes, and not to be started, and without informing the base shown, and the branch called "one purpose," whether all those are transcended, or some are transcended, or a few are transcended, ultimately it will become a misdeed, and before it was also a misdeed. Some say that ultimately there is also saying it is a gross offense. For the offense of the act, however many different acts are done, each one will become a misdeed. The absence of offense is that for those who are not vessels of the four conducts, there is no offense. For those who do and obtain, and for those who do and enjoy, there is no offense. There is no offense in repairing the old. For the beginner, the madman, the disturbed mind, and those who are threatened by feelings, there is no offense. What should be learned is that in all places, in all circumstances, the preparatory act of the house's act is a misdeed, and the preparatory act is a gross offense, and all the ways of becoming the actual act, one should not rely on them, one should learn. For an impure foundation, one should not inform. The monks themselves should want to investigate. Or let the appointed monks investigate. In any case, in all places, one should not let the house become a sanghādisesa. The remedy will be shown below. The sanghādisesa of the house, that is, the sixth, has been explained. The basis of the sanghādisesa of the monastery is that the Buddha Bhagavan was dwelling in the singing garden of Kauśāmbī (one of the sixteen great kingdoms of ancient India, now Kosam village in Uttar Pradesh). The group of six monks were dwelling in monasteries built by others, and when they were dwelling there, Ānanda and Upananda, look, this monastery has become a dilapidated hut. This monastery has cracked. The boundary of this monastery has been damaged. The walls of this monastery have been damaged. This monastery is like the house of a demoness, they mocked like this. The monks said to them: Venerable ones, you are temporarily dwelling in monasteries built by others, you cannot even lift a stone, yet you mock. The group of six monks, filled with arrogance, began to speak to each other: Ānanda and Upananda, these black-bowl wearers have suppressed us, come here, we have never been by any black-bowl wearer

Do not let them build any temples that are not up to standard. If all of us are diligent in our work, then these black-bowled monks will always look for opportunities, and they will find opportunities to say that all six groups are engaged in their work. We will also be blamed for the faults of those families who give alms. Among us, the venerable Upali is skilled in discipline and can be as firm as driving in a wedge, so he should be pleased to build the Sangha's temple. They pleased the venerable Upali to build the Sangha's temple. Then, the venerable Upali washed his feet outside the temple in the evening and entered the temple, thinking: What method is there by which the Sangha's temple will be completed? He began to consider who has faith in whom, and he thought: For the time being, the world, including the gods, has faith in the Bhagavan. A certain family has faith in the venerable Ājñāta-Kauṇḍinya. A certain family has faith in the venerable Śāriputra. A certain family has faith in the venerable Mahāmaudgalyāyana. A certain family has faith in the venerable Mahākāśyapa. A certain family has faith in the venerable Ghaṭarudhira. A certain family has faith in the venerable Subhūti. A certain family has faith in the venerable Revata. A certain family has faith in the venerable Nāgavana. A certain family has faith in the venerable Gaṅga. A certain family has faith in the venerable Vimala. A certain family has faith in the venerable Gavāṃpati. A certain family has faith in the venerable Ānanda. A certain family has faith in the venerable Nanda, the son of the Bhagavan's cousin. A certain family has faith in the venerable Rāhula, the son of the Bhagavan. A certain family has faith in the venerable Kālodayin. A certain family, and so on, has faith in the venerable Bakula, and so on.
