Then it is the teacher, that is what is taught by the one called the All-Knowing. What is taught? It is the Pratimoksha, that is what is taught by the one called the Vessel of the Jewel of Learning. To whom is it taught? To the Sangha of the Hearers, that is what is taught by the one called the Assembly of the Noble Ones. By what is what taught, that which is taught should be distinguished in the midst of the assembly to whom it is taught, the teacher teaches the Pratimoksha, that should be distinguished in the midst of the Sangha of the Hearers, that is, it is taught by the one called "to be distinguished in the midst of...", that is for the time being the general meaning. Now the meaning of the branches will be explained, wherein, in order to make the qualities of the Lord Buddha Bhagavan, the chief of beings, into a means of accomplishing the perfection of the benefit of others, and making the cause perfect, it is said, "The banner of fame is proclaimed in the three worlds." "Fame" means that the Tathagata has accumulated immeasurable collections of merit and wisdom from countless eons, the result arising from the perfection of the cause, that is, the qualities of abandonment and realization, and the immeasurable qualities gathered by unsurpassed wisdom. "Banner" means that fame is like a banner, so it is called a banner, because the qualities are manifestly superior, they are clear to all, and if one focuses on it, one will not err on the path of manifestly high and definitely good. "Three worlds" refers to the three realms that are gathered by relying only on the destruction of the aggregates of decay, namely the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. "Proclaimed" means that in those three realms, the sound of fame pervades, when the Bhagavan first manifested enlightenment, he first became famous on the earth, then he became famous in the sky, then he became famous in the retinue of the four great kings, from there until the summit of existence, and so on, in order. How is it proclaimed in the formless realm? When residing in the realm of form, because there is a habit of proclamation in the continuum, the result is established on the cause and it is said to be proclaimed. Therefore, through the qualities arising from the perfection of the cause, such as giving, by way of becoming a door to show others, the perfection of the cause that becomes a means of perfecting the benefit of others is shown. Making the benefit perfect.

It is said, "Proclaiming the Dharma sound of the Holy One, the Lion's Roar." The term "Holy One" refers to the Buddha, the Bhagavan, because he has completely abandoned all defilements along with their imprints. The term "Dharma sound" refers to the Dharma spoken by that Holy One, namely the Four Noble Truths, because these were spoken from the auspicious throat. The term "Lion's Roar" means that the Dharma sound of the Holy One itself is like a lion's roar, hence it is called the Lion's Roar, because it causes fear in non-Buddhists like elephants, and gathers the sons of the lineage, like cubs of human lions. The term "Proclaiming" means teaching, because the wheel of Dharma was turned in twelve aspects by repeating the Four Truths three times. Thus, the teacher, with perfect deeds, through the means of teaching the Dharma to others, demonstrated the perfection of benefit, which becomes the means of the perfection of others' benefit. By the power of the perfection of wisdom, he spoke of "the All-Knowing One." The term "All-Knowing One" refers to the Bhagavan, because he first completely, uniquely, immeasurably, and without inversion, demonstrated the nature of things. Therefore, the All-Knowing One, through establishing the extremely pure teachings, demonstrated the perfection of wisdom, which becomes the means of the perfection of others' benefit. By the power of the perfection of compassion, he spoke of "finding the treasury of jewels." The term "jewels" refers to the Dharma Jewel of explanation and realization, because it is rare like a jewel, precious, joyful, beneficial, and an antidote to those who cause harm, such as non-humans. The term "treasury" means that like a treasury of jewels, the treasury of this Dharma Jewel is the Noble Sangha, because they become the vessel of this Dharma Jewel through teachings and realization. The term "finding" means finding as disciples, because they follow the path of the teacher. Therefore, through completely maturing the retinue, he demonstrated the perfection of compassion, which becomes the means of the perfection of others' benefit. The perfection of the distinction of the fruit
