May excellent and desirable things be quickly and perfectly accomplished. Therefore, these methods of proper collection are also for following the conduct of noble beings. First, one engages in making offerings through praising and prostrating to one's own teacher. Those great beings who have performed the act of offering by praising and prostrating to the pleasing deities have washed away all the stains of sin and the defilements of harm. They have perfectly accumulated a vast burden of roots of virtue that is whiter than the immaculate water of the celestial river. Those who have performed all auspiciousness, recitations, and fire offerings, and whose minds are pure both internally and externally, will have their obstacles and wrong views, and the power of those who act contrary to the Dharma, diminished. The virtuous, pleasing, and extraordinary fruits that they have in mind will also manifestly increase. Thus it is said: "Whoever holds your name in their heart, performs Brahma conduct, auspiciousness, fire offerings, and recitations. They bathe and receive empowerment on all the shores of the water. They become exceedingly pure both internally and externally." Thus it is said. Furthermore, those who have properly collected their minds by listening to the immeasurable and unsurpassed collection of qualities of the Tathagata will generate unwavering faith in the Bhagavan, who has certainly conquered the fear of existence. Having thoroughly removed the mire of cutting off the defilements and near defilements, they will attain the desired fruits of higher realms and liberation. Thus it is said: "Those who make even small offerings to the Victorious One, the Sugata, will travel through all the heavens and attain the state of nectar." As it is said in the verses. Moreover: "Fame and splendor create delight, likewise endowed with light and joy, skilled in speech, stainless, intelligent, and free from faults. Having passed away, they will attain the immeasurable state of nectar. Those who know this say that praising the Buddha is the fruit that arises." Thus it is said. Furthermore, for the sake of benefiting future beings, praise and prostrations to the Bhagavan

Offering through garlands, like this: Reading and so on will have two kinds of obstacles. One is the nature of inner ignorance. The second is external spirits and flesh-eaters, and so on. If you make offerings through praising and prostrating to a pleasing deity, great wisdom will arise and great merit will increase. If great wisdom arises, you will be separated from the obstacle of the nature of inner ignorance, because wisdom is the antidote to ignorance, and it is said that all afflictions are destroyed by wisdom. Therefore, if great wisdom arises, ignorance will recede. The increase of great merit will also cause the obstacles of external spirits and flesh-eaters, and so on, to recede. Like this, when those with merit begin to do things, spirits and flesh-eaters, and so on, cannot create obstacles. Therefore, it is said: Reciting purifies sins. Remembering you is extremely joyful. Searching increases wisdom. Completely knowing is liberation. Welcoming you brings glory. Relying on you brings supreme wisdom. Accompanying you brings fearlessness. Respecting you brings happiness. So it is said. It is also said in other scriptures: By prostrating to the King of Sages, in this world, people's fame increases, goodness arises, light increases, all obstacles are eliminated, all enemies are abandoned, the mindstream is definitely directed towards the path of happiness, and in the end, only the fruit of peace is definitely obtained. It's like that. Furthermore, in order to generate respect for the scriptures and the teacher, when composing treatises and so on, offerings are made through praising and prostrating to the teacher. Like this, practitioners are divided into two types: those who know the qualities of the teacher and those who do not know the difference. Among them, those who know the qualities of the teacher, when composing treatises, upon hearing the immeasurable collection of the qualities of the Blessed One, will generate respect for the treatise, thinking that this treatise follows the teachings of the Blessed One, and thus generate respect for the treatise. Respect for the treatise
