Because it is a serious offense. To perceive it there is to perceive that it is possessed by a human lineage. If something possessed by a human lineage is perceived as possessed by another being's lineage, it is a serious offense. The complete value is one-fourth or more of a Karshapana. If it is not enough, it is a serious offense. Moving from the place is moving that thing from its own place to another place. If it is not moved from the place, it is a serious offense. Among them, being possessed by a human lineage and being possessed by another being are having an owner. The difference of the owner is this: the owner is the one who is a human or another being at the time of the theft. What happened in the past or what will happen later is not the owner. The difference of saying that the complete value is one-fourth or more of a Karshapana is this: four Kakas are one Mashaka. Twenty Mashakas are one Karshapana. One Kaka is the name of the value of twenty shells. One Mashaka is the name of the value of eighty shells. One Karshapana is the name of the value of one thousand six hundred shells. One-fourth of a Karshapana is the value of five Mashakas, which is the name of the value of four hundred shells. The Sutra says five Mashakas because in Central India, one Karshapana is counted as twenty Mashakas, so it is based on its one-fourth. Here, setting one-fourth of a Karshapana as the standard of complete value is certain in all times and places. It is not certain how many Mashakas are in one-fourth of a Karshapana. The calculation method should be determined by the place and time. Therefore, the difference of place and time is this: nowadays in Central India, twenty Mashakas are one Karshapana. In some places and times, eleven Mashakas are counted as one Karshapana. Sixteen Mashakas are counted as one Karshapana. Twenty Mashakas are counted as one Karshapana. Forty Mashakas are counted as one Karshapana, so it should be known that if one-fourth of a Karshapana calculated by such a value calculation method is stolen, one will commit a defeat.
