Because Nanda was hurt and scolded in various ways, the World Honored One correctly saw the ten benefits of establishing precepts. Therefore, the Bhikshus should recite the basis for learning the Vinaya as follows: If any Bhikshu, using thread begged by himself, has a non-relative weaver weave cloth, and the cloth is finished, he commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. The World Honored One established the precept in this way. The place was Shravasti, the person was Nanda, the afflictions were desire and hatred, and the offense was having a non-relative weaver weave cloth. Among them, "any Bhikshu" refers to Nanda, the son of the Shakya clan, or anyone else like him. "Using thread begged by himself" means that through the faithful, some begged for one tael, some begged for half a tael, some begged for two 'sho', and some begged for one 'sho' of thread. "Weaver" refers to a textile worker. "Non-relative" means that maternal grandmothers and grandfathers, and those who rely on maternal grandparents up to the seventh generation are relatives, and beyond the seventh generation are not relatives. "Having weave cloth" refers to any of the seven types of cloth, namely wool cloth, hemp cloth, fine linen cloth, coarse linen cloth, cotton-wool cloth, Kutamba cloth, and Niyoga cloth. "Cloth is finished" means obtaining the cloth. "Commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense" means that the object must be relinquished, and the Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense must be confessed. Therefore, the World Honored One said "commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense." So, how is an offense constituted? Here, it is also necessary to understand the definition here through the main action, the preparatory action, the preparatory action of the preparatory action to determine the offense, as well as the absence of offense, what should be learned, and the remedial methods. Here, the determination of the offense of the main action is that, for a non-relative lay weaver, instructing him without compensation with words, or having him weave cloth through messengers or others, then it becomes the main action of the Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense of having him weave cloth. If a Bhikshu commits the Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense of having him weave cloth, and without relinquishing and separating it, and without confessing the offense, or having relinquished and separated it, but without confessing the offense, or having relinquished and separated it, and having confessed the offense, he obtains another thing like this that belongs to having him weave cloth, then that thing will also need to be relinquished due to the power of the previous one, and thus commit an offense.

It will not change. If a bhikkhu commits a sanghadisesa offense by having someone weave cloth, as long as he has not confessed from the object of abandonment and has not confessed individually, then the alms bowl or the Dharma robe, or the net, or the bowl, or the belt, or any other monastic necessities, if placed near it, will also be abandoned by the power of concealment, but he will not fall because of it. There is no fault for a weaver who is a householder and not a relative. There is no fault in instructing verbally without payment. There is no fault in sending messengers or others to have weaving done. There is no fault in the cloth being suitable and of the proper size. There is no fault in relatives and non-relatives completing the weaving at the same time. There is no fault in householder and ordained weavers completing the weaving at the same time. There is no fault in weaving with oneself and non-relatives. There is no fault in having people weave whether payment is given or not. The agent here is a weaver who is a householder and not a relative, and instructing without payment, or having others also have weaving done. Here, five limbs become the root offense: a weaver who is a householder and not a relative, and without payment, and verbal expression or instruction by others, cloth that is suitable and of the proper size, having weaving done, and the completion of the cloth. If these limbs are not complete, there is fault accordingly. The offense of the preparatory act is a misdeed, as long as one has begun the preparatory act of the sanghadisesa offense of having weaving done, until one has not reached the root, it is a misdeed. For the root, for each different preparatory act performed, there is one misdeed. For as many different preparatory acts as are performed, there are as many misdeeds. For a weaver who is an outsider, and for an ordained person in this place, and for those who are unchaste and fallen, there are misdeeds. For materials that are unsuitable and not of the proper size, there is a misdeed. If the meaning of having weaving done is not understood, there is a misdeed. If the cloth is not completed, there is a misdeed. The offense of the preparatory act of the preparatory act is a minor misdeed, for as many preparatory acts as there are, there are as many preparatory acts of the preparatory act, the preparatory act of the misdeed is also a misdeed, it is a minor misdeed. That is also, first thinking in the mind is the offense of the preparatory act of the preparatory act.
