Therefore, if a Bhikshu holds an unrelated bowl, when all the Sangha are gathered and in harmony, he takes this unrelated bowl, prostrates in the direction of the elders, and then sits before the abbot of the Sangha, saying, "Venerable Abbot, this bowl is very clean, well-shaped, and suitable for use. If it pleases you, please use it." In this way, he praises the unrelated bowl as it is, and then offers it. The abbot of the Sangha, if willing, may accept it. If the abbot of the Sangha accepts the bowl, then the original bowl of the abbot of the Sangha is offered to the second abbot. The original bowl of the second abbot is offered to the third abbot. Similarly, until the bowl of the second novice of the Sangha is offered to the novice of the Sangha. If the abbot of the Sangha does not accept it, it is offered to the second abbot. If the second abbot does not accept it, it is offered to the third abbot. If the third abbot accepts it, and the abbot of the Sangha is requesting, then the first statement should not be given, nor should the second statement be given. The third statement should be given, and the abbot of the Sangha should confess the offenses against the Vinaya. Similarly, if the third novice of the Sangha does not accept it, it is offered to the second novice. If the second novice does not accept it, it is offered to the novice. If the novice of the Sangha accepts it, and the third novice is requesting, then the first statement should not be given, nor should the second statement be given. The third statement should be given, until the third novice of the Sangha confesses the offenses against the Vinaya. The last remaining bowl in that Bhikshu Sangha, to that Bhikshu, say, "Bhikshu, you should not bless this bowl, you should not abandon it, you should not give it to others, but you should slowly, slowly use it until it is completely broken." Thus it is given.

, and on the other side, place the blessed alms bowl. If there are some carriers, give them the blessed alms bowl, and oneself carry the one without the alms bowl strap. If there are no carriers at all, carry the one without the alms bowl strap on the left shoulder, and the blessed alms bowl on the right shoulder. This is their punishment, to be cut off as long as they live by purely keeping the precepts. Thus, by the order of appointing a distributor of the bowl without a strap, if the monk who has committed an offense has many bowls, then one that is most desired should be abandoned to the Sangha, and all the others should be abandoned to this ordained person, and then a very inferior bowl without a strap should be given to him. After that ritual and action are completed, he should repent of the previous offenses in accordance with the Dharma. The abandonment of seeking an alms bowl, the twenty-second, has been explained. The Extensive Explanation of the Pratimoksha Sutra, a Compilation from All the Vinayas, Volume Seventeen. The story of the basis for abandoning weaving is that the Buddha Bhagavan was dwelling in Anathapindika's Grove in Jeta's Grove in Shravasti. The lay followers thought, "All of these are bound by the precepts of the householder Anathapindika, so in the future, we will not be able to ask for even the price of a piece of coarse cloth. If we go and see, perhaps we can ask someone for it." So, in the morning, he put on his lower garment, took his alms bowl and robes, and went to Shravasti to beg for alms. He begged for a little coarse cloth from each of the five hundred widows who were weaving coarse cloth, and then exchanged it with a girl named Devanama, and begged for fine cloth. Then, together with a trusted minister of King Prasenajit of Kosala, he had it woven by the leader of the weavers, Spithila Nankukha. Then they scolded him, slandered him, and rebuked him. At that time, the monks reported it to the Bhagavan. Then, because of this event, this story, and this occasion, the Bhagavan convened the Sangha of monks.
