If there is, then the price of the cloth should be determined according to the order previously shown. If giving is done with the intention of generosity, and the monk needs it for offerings to the Buddha, etc., and for offerings to the Sangha, etc., then at that time, it should be possessed by making it permissible as the Blessed One said. Regarding the statement "excessive urging and staying," there is no fault in urging no more than three times and staying no more than three times. Urging three times is the nature of speech. Staying three times is the nature of staying in a certain direction. There is no fixed order for these. If one stays in a certain direction first and then urges later, there is no fault in that either. Similarly, if one urges twice and stays four times, there is no fault in that either, because the instances of staying are fewer. If the other person does not understand the meaning of urging and staying, then it is not urging. What are the six ways of urging that the Blessed One spoke of? They are speaking openly and arranging well, and in terms of food and drink, each of which is divided into two, making a total of six. Among them, speaking openly is when someone says, "Have you come?" and one replies, "For that reason"; when someone says, "Have you come well?" and one replies, "For that reason." Arranging well is when someone says, "Sit on this cushion" and one replies, "For that reason"; when someone says, "Wash your feet" and one replies, "For that reason." In terms of food and drink, it is when someone says, "Eat some tsampa" and one replies, "For that reason"; when someone says, "Drink something" and one replies, "For that reason." All of these should be distinguished separately. If one does it in one way, then all six ways will become only one way of urging, therefore they should be distinguished separately. The mention of "not promising to help gather the mind of giving" is because if the attendant promises to help gather the mind of giving, then there is no fault for the monk in accepting the cloth. The so-called "promising to help gather the mind of giving" is when the monk previously

If those who solicit in the manner of solicitation do not obtain the benefit of clothing, and there is no hope, then they solicit the almsgiver who gives, saying, 'You have given me nothing, you know!' Having proclaimed this and abandoned it, if later the solicitor offers clothing to the bhikkhu, then that bhikkhu should say to the solicitor, 'I solicited the almsgiver, you gave me nothing, you know!' After saying the words of abandoning the clothing, it should be announced afterwards. Even if it is known that the clothing has been abandoned in this way, if the solicitor says, 'Venerable, take this clothing from me! I will win back the almsgiver's heart.' If he promises to do so, then that bhikkhu should take that clothing from the solicitor. Saying 'took the clothing' is because there is no offense if it is not taken. Even if one, two, or many pieces of clothing are obtained by one action, one basis of offense should be determined. The offense of the action is a misdeed, that is, as long as the action of abandoning the offense that is censured is undertaken, until the basis is not reached, it is a misdeed. For the basis, for each different action undertaken, there is a misdeed. All three of the giver, the messenger, and the solicitor are not human beings, and not householders, are misdeeds. If a non-human gives, a non-human is the messenger, and a human allows, it is also a misdeed. If a non-human gives, a human is the messenger, and a non-human allows, it is also a misdeed. If a human gives, a non-human is the messenger, and a non-human allows, it is also a misdeed. If a human gives, a human is the messenger, and a non-human allows, it is also a misdeed. If a human gives, a non-human is the messenger, and a human allows, it is also a misdeed. If a non-human gives, a human is the messenger, and a human allows, it is also a misdeed. The same applies to the alternation of householders and non-householders. After the messenger has arrived, if the bhikkhu urges the solicitor without mentioning what was done before, it is a misdeed.
