A transgression is committed in between. For the main act, a transgression is committed for each different union performed. A transgression is committed for begging from one who belongs to the human realm, has become a householder, is living, and is not a relative. A transgression is committed at the very time of begging. A transgression is committed towards the unsuitable. A transgression is committed towards the young. A transgression is committed towards both the householder and the householder's wife, or one of them, or towards a hermaphrodite and a bisexual. A transgression is committed towards the renunciates of other religions, those who have not generated desire, and those who have declined. The downfall of union's union is a minor transgression; as many unions as there are, so many unions of union there are. The union of transgression's union is also a transgression, that is, a minor transgression. Among them, first thinking in the mind is the minor transgression of union's union. Then union with the body and so forth is the actual transgression. Then the final completion is the actual basis of the downfall to be abandoned, it should be known as such. There is no downfall when taking what is appropriate to beg for without excess. There is no downfall for the beginner, the madman, the disturbed in mind, and the one oppressed by feelings. What is to be learned is that a bhikshu should, in all places and at all times, not rely on all kinds of things that are appropriate to beg for and should be abandoned, one should learn in this way. Restoration is as before. The seventh, the abandonment of what is appropriate to beg for, has been explained. The Extensive Commentary on the Pratimoksha Sutra, Collected from All the Vinayas, the Twelfth Chapter, the Basis for Discussing the Abandonment of Begging for Food, is as follows: The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in Jetavana in Shravasti, in the grove of Anathapindada. In Shravasti, there lived a householder who took a wife from the same lineage. He played with her, rejoiced with her, and enjoyed pleasure. Later, this householder became attached to another's wife. His wife dissuaded him, saying, "Lord's son, please do not do that." No matter how much she dissuaded him, he did not turn back. Similarly, his wife also engaged in adultery with other men. This householder also gave other women to others, and his wife also gave other men to others. Therefore,

Later, both of those families declined. They had a maidservant. The master of the house would beat the maidservant with fists and sticks, saying, "This maidservant has caused my house to decline." The maidservant said, "Although I know what caused the house to decline, how can I say something that is not praise for you, master?" The close ones heard this and went to the master of the house and his wife. They proclaimed the virtues of morality in such a way that they would take refuge and abide in the precepts. They also proclaimed the faults of not praising the violation of morality, causing them both to take refuge and abide in the precepts. The master of the house was fierce, stubborn, and very violent, so he started beating the maidservant again. The wife said to him, "Prince, when we did not understand karma and its ripening, we could beat her. Now that we rely on the noble Nanda, the virtuous friend, we understand karma and its ripening. In this way, the world experiences the fruits of its own karma, so who is whose servant? Do not beat this maidservant. Good woman, what you say is not wrong. Maidservant, come here, take a bath and come." The maidservant washed and came, and he gave her a new garment to wear and said, "Maidservant, work happily!" The maidservant thought, "This householder couple used to be fierce, stubborn, and very violent. They would always beat me with fists and sticks, and give me coarse food and clothing. Now they have become like my parents." She also thought, "Ever since I started entering the house of the noble Nanda, this householder has become like my parents. What should I do to please the noble Nanda?" She thought, "If I steal something from here and make him poor, then this householder will beat me a lot and put me back in my former place." So she stayed there and lived. The wife of the householder said to the householder, "Prince, be aware.
