Saying "I have finished reciting these two uncertain dharmas" is a summary of reciting the uncertain dharmas. The so-called "these two uncertain dharmas" refer to the two dharmas that were previously spoken of. Saying "I have finished reciting" is to summarize the meaning of the vow, and it is said to make the listeners happy. In this regard, I will ask the long-lived ones: "Are you pure in this?" Ask like this two or three times. "If you long-lived ones are pure in this, then because you say nothing, you consider it to be so," this is to proclaim the separate establishment of the uncertain dharmas. The so-called "in this regard" refers to the time when the two uncertain dharmas have been recited. The rest is the same as before. The recitation of the uncertain dharmas has been explained. The Ninth Volume of the Extensive Explanation of the Pratimoksha Sutra, the Vinaya Matters. The nature of the extensive explanation has two kinds of summarized meanings: the first thing to do and the recitation of the sutra. The so-called "the first thing to do" is the ritual, which has already been explained in the previous six kinds of summarized meanings. Reciting the sutra is the action, and its summarized meaning also has six kinds: petition, reciting the origin, reciting the defeat, reciting the sanghavasesa, reciting the uncertain dharmas, and proclaiming the nature of the overall recitation. The so-called petition, reciting the origin, reciting the defeat, reciting the sanghavasesa, and reciting the uncertain dharmas have all been explained before. Now we will explain the nature of the overall recitation. The so-called overall recitation is to summarize the nissaggiya pacittiya, the pacittiya alone, the patidesaniya, the many training rules, and the seven dharmas for settling disputes into one category, and to recite the Pratimoksha Sutra as a whole. In this regard, first we will explain the recitation of the nissaggiya pacittiya, therefore the verse says: "Holding, separating, placing, causing dyeing, accepting, begging and upper garment, lower garment, entrusting value separately." Like this, thirty ten-verses were spoken. The necessity and meaning of the words "verse says" are the same as before. Ten verses

The first one explains the ten offenses entailing forfeiture, namely: holding, separating, placing, causing to be sewn, receiving, begging, being suitable to beg, begging for mixed things, separately begging for mixed things, and handing over. The second one also explains ten offenses entailing forfeiture. The third one also explains ten, so in general, there are thirty offenses entailing forfeiture. Venerable ones, these thirty offenses entailing forfeiture are what are recited twice a month in the Pratimoksha Sutra, which indicates the basis for reciting the offenses entailing forfeiture. The so-called "offense entailing forfeiture" refers to the fact that if a bhikkhu's belongings are abandoned, then his mind abandons the Dharma, and if he is separated from himself for more than one night, then he must confess the offense, so it is called an offense entailing forfeiture. It itself has the nature of being blameworthy, so it is called Dharma. The so-called "these thirty" refer to those that arise from the first, second, and third ten. The so-called "what is recited twice a month in the Pratimoksha Sutra" is because the Vinaya Pitaka in the Tripitaka is not written down, so it is not completely public. Therefore, some may wonder, how can one know the offenses entailing forfeiture by reciting the Pratimoksha? This is to explain that when reciting the Pratimoksha twice a month, it is known from the recitation of the Vinaya holders. Therefore, the Bhagavan allowed this completely compiled Vinaya Pitaka to be organized for the benefit of future people who are dull-witted and unable to grasp the words and meanings. Therefore, these secret activities of the Vinaya Pitaka should not be heard by those who have not taken full ordination. Wanting to explain the offenses entailing forfeiture, first, it is necessary to briefly explain the common characteristics of the offenses entailing forfeiture, such as merely holding and separating. Therefore, it is said that there is no beginning of day and night, and there is no last that is not the last. The so-called "no beginning of day and night" refers to the end of day and night, that is, the first light of the next day.
