If one recognizes that it is not buying and selling, there is no downfall. If one mentions it by name, saying, "This is what it is said," buying and selling are done by others, and that person also wants that, if one takes a neutral attitude, even if one does not engage in union, it is a downfall. Whether buying or selling, if one deceives in measuring with bushels, pecks, or scales, the value must be calculated. If it is complete, one will be defeated. If it is incomplete, it will increase. Likewise, if one steals by lying, the downfall of lying will also occur in the hand, and if the value of the obtained object is complete, one will be defeated. Even if one does not obtain it, because of lying and deceiving, the union will increase. The remainder is the same as before. If one buys not for the sake of gain, but sells at a high price, and uses that price to satisfy the needs of the price, if it is not for the sake of gain, there is no downfall. If one transfers it to another place, thinking to measure the previous attachment, there is no fault. Even if it is not done for the sake of a Bhikshuni, one should not determine the value of clothes, etc. One should not put one's hand into the language of laypeople. If one is buying for oneself, one should buy from a believing layperson or a Shramanera. If there is no such person, one should speak two or three times with certainty. If one buys and sells oneself, determining the price to be high or low, it is a minor offense. For the Sangha, it should be increased; first, it should be increased by the resident elder of the Sangha, and it should not be decreased. What others have increased may be decreased, but if one increases it for someone who does not want to buy, it is a minor offense. If one uses an increased item without paying the price, it is a minor offense. If the benefactor's son and wife offer, one should ask him how to do it. If he says, "Increase it a little, and I will pay the price," one should increase it. If a Bhikshu increases it, it is a minor offense. The Sangha should not pursue it according to the price, but if he is happy to give whatever he gives, one should accept it. If a mother, etc., gives a son or daughter, one should accept it. If they ask for it back, one should give it. If the poor also pay the price, one should accept it. One should not accept it like the poor, but if he is happy to give whatever he gives, one should accept it. That child is also a Bhikshu.

One should support the waist and neck by tying them with strips of the monastic robe. If they grow larger, in order to know that it has been done, if offered, it should be accepted because it is like a close attendant. Tenth. The assembly of bedding is complete. Starting from the basis of the alms bowl, the second downfall is that one should understand that in order to completely abandon the three defilements that lead to serious transgressions, etc. For example, in Shravasti, Nyati had sixty attendants each contribute sixty karshapanas, and the group of six also obtained alms bowls and accumulated their gains, neither using them themselves nor giving them to others. To abandon such defilements, the first abandonment concerning alms bowls was established. The so-called surplus alms bowl refers to having more than one blessed alms bowl when one already has a blessed one. If there is none, whatever has not been blessed or made suitable is called surplus because it is different from that. There are two kinds of alms bowls: those made of iron and those made of earth. Those made of stone are included in those made of earth. If they are not included and are of a different kind, why would the Blessed One hold an unsuitable bowl? Furthermore, there are four kinds of alms bowls: those made of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal. Those that have not been acquired should not be acquired. Those that have been acquired should be discarded. There are also four kinds: those made of white copper, copper, wooden staffs, and wood. Those that have not been acquired should not be acquired. Those that have been acquired should be made into medicine bowls and used. Furthermore, there are twenty-one kinds of alms bowls: new and old, cracked and intact, uncracked, unpatched, half-patched, heavily patched, unstained, small, suitable, and large. Small and large ones should not be blessed. Those distributed by the Sangha, those bought from within the Sangha, Those bought with one's own money, those acquired previously, i.e., prepared for ordination when one was a householder. Those obtained from a patron, those obtained from a co-practitioner, and found alms bowls. If so, if the owner is not found in the teachings, it should be blessed in the dustpan. If it is otherwise, it is not so. Finished.
