The monasteries with different boundaries and the gains should be unified. The recitation of precepts should be different. If they come, the patrons should do as they please. After a monastery is demolished, it should be the same size as before or larger, not smaller. If the patron does not have the ability, it can be smaller. Stupas and clean rooms, etc., should be equal or larger, not smaller. When painting, if one wants to paint, one should paint the Jataka tales, etc. Similarly, one should also write the scriptures of the Buddha's words. During the period of building a house, do not demolish it when leaving. In the monastery, a suitable dwelling should be designated. There are five types: arising from the edge of lifting, arising from the edge of gathering the mind, like a cowshed, arising temporarily, and designation, which is the fifth. What is called arising from the edge of lifting means that when a monk, craftsman, or patron first lifts a brick, they should generate the intention and also say in words: This foundation will become a suitable dwelling for the Sangha. What is called arising from the edge of gathering the mind means that there, one should bless others by saying: Please gather your mind. Like a cowshed, it means that the doors are in different places. Arising temporarily means the place that has been abandoned. Designation means designating through prayer and two karmas. After all places are built, including the inner and outer boundaries and the surrounding one cubit, the karma is completed by saying this. Whatever is not designated below, the top and surface are also. Those who dwell there first should speak if it has not been blessed by the craftsman or the Sangha. If they do not speak, then the original inhabitants should speak. If they do not speak, then those who arrive suddenly should speak. If there is no Sangha, when an individual knows, they should do small, suitable things, and do suitable things in a way that does not reduce entry, and should accept and use it. Among them, doing suitable things with little knowledge is like this: one should generate the intention and also say in words: I am not someone who is disrespectful to the precepts. The Tathagata Bhagavan, who has wisdom and has sight, the dwelling and food dwelling that are allowed are perfect.

When practicing in a place, knowing and seeing, thus, for my sake, may mindfulness be placed nearby. Now, may my pure conduct be followed and upheld. Therefore, what should be permitted by undiminished entry is this: I am not disrespectful to the precepts, as before until then. For the sake of those who are not independent with undiminished entry to comply and protect the precepts, the Blessed One, the Buddha, has slightly restricted how much can be learned. I am not independent, how can I become a Buddha? As before until then. Inside the permitted place, cooked food and stale oil should also be used as desired, and it will not become a fault of accomplishing non-permitted things. There are ten non-permitted bases: unobstructed places, gatehouses, courtyards, warm rooms, bathrooms, the base of the king, the base of the stupa, the base of the heretics, the base of the householder, the summer retreat of the nuns. Cooking food in these places is a misdeed. In the chapter on monasteries, if the extensive words are not done as spoken, then in all places it is a misdeed. The words mentioned in passing are finished, the main text should be spoken. The monks should be invited, this is for the individual, not the intention of the Sangha, in order to avoid the arising of the affliction of disputes at other times. If so, how will it become a downfall? If it is not a fixed amount, then other downfalls are distinguished as before. For the Sangha that is determined separately, the materials for building the monastery should be distributed and the monks should be invited. If they are not invited, it is a gross offense. The donor should expel the quarrelsome monks, the monks who destroy families, and the monks who are not qualified from their own monastery. Other qualified ones should be invited. If they do not come, then the materials should be distributed in the place where they live. If the virtuous ones are not invited, then if it is not indicated by examining that it does not exist there, there is no downfall. What should be permitted because of small knowledge and foolishness is that there is no downfall even if it is not reported to the Sangha. Some say, monks...
