Do. Do not make noise with mucus and saliva, etc. Not in front of the abbot. Not in the place where work is completed. Not in front of people who are eating. Do not spit repeatedly. If it happens again and again, go to one side and spit. For the sake of the sick, put a container for saliva. Sprinkle rice flour or sand or ashes underneath it. Do not do it in water, this is said because one has taken a near-pure laxative, in order to defecate at the place of the laxative of the medicine cook, where water covers, cut some wood etc., and urinate and defecate there. Do not be higher than a certain number of people, this is said because the alms bowl holder is to be seen by the monastic official, so it is called manifest climbing. Except for harm, this is allowed because if one does not climb, one will be eaten by a tiger. Those dharmas to be learned should also be understood in this way, that their basis is in eight ways: regarding wearing dharma robes, regarding entering villages, regarding what should be entered, regarding fully enjoying food, regarding the affairs of the alms bowl, regarding teaching the dharma, regarding discarding impure things, regarding making flowers and fruits unsuitable. The dharmas to be learned are complete. The seven ways to pacify disputes, this is because these four disputes are pacified by these. Among them, whatever is the gain of the Dharma belongs to those who speak the Dharma, therefore a fight has occurred, so it is listed as the root of disputes. Among them, the dispute because of regret is when someone in the Sangha says it is like this or not like this, that is, they speak inconsistently, thereby causing a fight. It is both giving and dispute, therefore it is the dispute of giving. The six roots of giving, and the fourteen bases that lead to division. The six roots of giving are: being angry and bearing grudges, concealing and being annoyed, being jealous and stingy, being hypocritical and deceitful, being shameless and without shame, desiring evil and having wrong views, thinking one's own views are the best and being arrogant.

The basis for becoming a dispute is what is called Dharma, or what is called non-Dharma. Similarly, what is called Vinaya, or what is not Vinaya. What is called a downfall, or what is without downfall. What is called heavy, or what is called light. What is called remaining, or what is not remaining. What should be guarded, or what should be confessed. What is contrary to Vinaya, or what belongs to the declaration of offenses. From the distinctions of virtue, non-virtue, and the undeclared, there are three types: those who consider it virtuous, those who consider it non-virtuous, and those who do not consider it either, also in their respective order. Whatever is disputed, that itself is contention, which can be applied to four categories. The first category is merely speaking in disagreement. The second is three disputes other than that. The third is those together. The fourth is those excluded. Disputing because of not guarding is speaking about what is not appropriate to speak about, and because of speaking wrongly, it is called not guarding. For example, the three, such as sticks and wealth, completely instigate dispute. Its root is not guarding. The remaining parts are the same as before. Disputing because of downfall is when the five categories of downfalls become the basis for fighting, and from that, fighting arises completely instigated. Its root is the body, etc. There is also only the body, such as lying down with the understanding that it has occurred when it has not occurred because one has not taken full ordination, or in sleep, the female area later appears and one lies down, or because of sleep, one falls on top of feces. There is also only speech, such as uttering six or seven words without considering the female area. There is also between the body and mind, such as killing and drinking alcohol, without speaking words. There is also between speech and mind, such as uttering six or seven words after considering. There is also body, speech, and mind, such as praising the act of killing itself with speech. Disputing because of action is when actions such as requests become the basis for fighting, and from that, fighting arises completely instigated. Its root is actions such as requests, and the remaining parts are the same as before, the disputes have been spoken. What should be pacified should be spoken. Disputing because of contention
