, and knowing that there are four situations. The so-called "dwelling" means declaring that there is no downfall for not dwelling, which is also permitted based on the condition of the sick and so on. The so-called "except for such causes" refers to the begging bowl or Dharma robe being burned in another's house, or a life-threatening obstacle occurring, or an obstacle to celibacy occurring. If one perceives non-time as non-time, or hesitates, entering will become a cause of downfall. If one perceives time as non-time, or hesitates, one commits a misdeed. If one perceives non-time or time as time, there is no downfall. There is no downfall in going in these three ways: to a solitary place, wandering everywhere, and going from village to village. There is no downfall in entering by means of miraculous power. There is no downfall in dwelling in the sky and dwelling on the ground, or dwelling on the ground and dwelling in the sky, or an obstacle to celibacy, or dwelling inside the boundary and dwelling outside the boundary, or returning, or not speaking, or not understanding the language, or entering with one who does not abide in their own nature, and also not speaking to other renunciants and Brahmins when entering. Perceiving a village as a village also has six aspects. Some say that if one perceives it as not a village, and perceives time as non-time, there will be a downfall. The tenth. The eighth assembly is complete. In Shravasti, another householder who had taken the upavasa vows made arrangements, invited the Sangha of monks to a feast, and instructed them, "Do not distribute until I return." Then he went to another house to dwell. Most of the Sangha of monks lacked food, so they began the cause of going to the householder's house to beg for alms, became impoverished, and the afflictions of disbelief and so on, together with food, became the first assembly. The so-called "together with food" means together with the invitation. The so-called "house" refers to the house of a Brahmin or a householder. The so-called "invited to a feast" refers to food. The so-called "before food" refers to the morning, going to more than two houses. The so-called "after food" refers to the afternoon, going to three houses.

More than that. The so-called "cause of going" is a synonym for "going." If one goes for alms to more than two houses before a meal, or more than three houses after a meal, it is a downfall. If the householder says, "Even if I am not here, please accept the offering," and does not invite the alms-seeker and the person who takes his place, or invites someone other than the five kinds of food, or has clothes and other things, and abandons the invited person to seek others, there is no downfall. Among these, what is universally used are six kinds of invitations, nine kinds of being invited, and five kinds of leftover food. What are the six kinds of invitations? Poor non-believers, believers, rich non-believers, believers, non-relatives, and relatives. What are the nine kinds of being invited? Being invited based on the Sangha, inviting individuals separately, inviting together with friends, inviting by day and night, inviting for a long time, inviting with a set limit, or saying "Eat as much as there is," or inviting without distinction, and inviting during festivals. What are the five kinds of leftover food? Fallen animals, or hungry ghosts, and the sick, attendants of the sick, servants of novices, oneself, the alms of the benefactor, or one's own decline, famine strikes and strange things appear, and food that becomes unavailable to laymen or laywomen. For a monk who is invited, for the fallen, one should give a cup of alcohol. If one wants to give leftover food, for the family of a poor non-believer, one should give nearly half. For the first family, give half. For the family of a rich non-believer, give an equal portion. During festivals, one can give as one wishes. Other than these five, one can give what the benefactor allows. In the house of relatives, one can give as one wishes. For those invited with a set limit, one should only eat what comes in the bowl; how can one give to him until he is satisfied? If there are two universal invitations, one should pour it on one's own food. If one does not reconcile oneself, one should give to the heavier, lighter, more believing, more
