Some say that the work of a monk is difficult, so they do not say to offer vows. Some think that they cannot understand all the precepts themselves, and they also want to be ordained. If one indulges in impure conduct without having taken vows, even if one has not taken vows, one will not be judged as defeated, and one can be expelled just like one who has taken vows. Why? Because in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, there is no dispute or slander regarding the precepts and the rules. Third is if one engages in sexual activity. Fourth is the monk being very happy. If it is shown, it means that one has both taken vows and violated them, and also engages in impure conduct, i.e., sexual intercourse, there are four situations. The first is begging, engaging in evil, acting without autonomy, and being unable to endure and wanting to correctly uphold the fifth precept—brahmacharya, and not engaging in impure conduct, but having taken vows. The second situation is engaging in impure conduct with a fearless mind and a stealing mind. The third is engaging in impure conduct after properly taking vows. The fourth is the monk being very happy. Even being born in the animal realm refers to a female monkey and becoming like a female monkey. Being judged as defeated refers to being judged as fallen and condemned as soon as it is completed, also because the possessions of the monk will be judged as defeated. One should not reside, which means that those monks should not reside in Uposatha and other occasions. Even if judged as defeated, there are also situations where one should not reside, there are four situations. The first is the non-returner being judged as defeated, because the basic defilements have been defeated and judged as defeated. The second is doing the act of expelling from the residence. The third is falling. The fourth is the monk residing naturally. Another saying is that the word "who," although it also relates to people other than monks in a general voice, it only shows being judged as defeated, because the word "monk" does not presuppose a common basis. The word "again" refers to being different from this, this

This shows that there is no downfall in the initial action. The term "bhikshu" refers to the Pratimoksha vows of a bhikshu, thus excluding bhikshunis and others. This is a concluding term. That is, a bhikshu who has no faults in terms of the Sangha, boundaries, karma, and individual, receives full ordination through the procedure of a bhikshu or the karma of a bhikshuni. Those who receive full ordination due to causes such as self-arising are not included within the established precepts. The Vinaya and such were initiated and established because they were controlled by afflictions. The term "bhikshu" also refers to those who have previously committed downfalls, etc., so to distinguish them, it is said, "bhikshus," etc. For example, if someone asks: Is there a bhikshu who engages in impure conduct but does not incur a Parajika offense? The answer is: Yes, those who have previously committed a downfall. The term "bhikshus" does not refer to bhikshunis and others, because they have more or fewer precepts compared to bhikshus. If a bhikshuni changes sex and becomes a bhikshu, then why is it said that they do not have the same precepts as bhikshus? Because after the change, the uncommon precepts are discontinued. The term "together" excludes other meanings, and the meaning of "together" is explained as a third meaning. The term "precepts" refers to the three trainings: higher ethical conduct, higher mind, and higher wisdom. Here, higher ethical conduct is taken as the precepts. The term "change" refers to someone who commits a downfall, not to the uncompleted karma, i.e., it is not said to be a Parajika offense, but rather to someone who receives full ordination without having become a novice. The term "not relinquished the precepts" means not having relinquished the precepts through the causes that would lead to relinquishing them; this is a concluding term. There are four causes for relinquishing the precepts: relinquishing the precepts, the appearance of two sexes, the severing of the root of virtue, and death. If the precepts are interrupted, then the meaning of "the precepts are not the same" has not been explained before? If it is said "change," then whoever changes and relinquishes, it can be said that they have changed, and there is no fault in this. The precepts are impaired
