That is, two defeat offenses and four misdeeds. Recognizing "ga ga tsa la la ga ga tsa la ru" is also combined into six types. Third. While residing in Shravasti, the seventeen groups were seen by the tree spirit Kshema at the Ganges River and became disbelieving. Therefore, they engaged in the basis of play, and because of the afflictions close to the root, the fourth was added. The so-called "playing in water" is being fond of water. One becomes subject to defeat offenses through nine things, namely, playing, causing to play, gaming, causing to game, rejoicing, causing to rejoice, roughness, frivolity, causing the body to change, that is, splashing water on each other, surging upwards, making birds appear and disappear inside, walking, etc., and striking the water like a drum, etc., doing it oneself, and causing others to do the six things. Furthermore, by separating them with the distinctions of mind, speech, and body, and adding three roots, there are nine in total. If a monk thinks of playing, rises from the bed, puts on the lower garment, puts on the upper garment, goes and divides the bathing cloth, and enters the water, whether the water is small or large, deep or not deep, whether it is permissible to play or not, entering it incurs a misdeed. This is also the ritual of preparation, and it should be known in all places of learning. Does one surge upwards? Does one make birds appear and disappear? Does one go to the other shore? Does one come to this shore? Is it a water current? Does one again victoriously emerge upwards? Does one make tiles and stones, etc., in the water? Even drawing pictures on the water? Filling a pot, etc., with water? Filling it with lotus roots, etc.? Striking the water like a drum, etc., incurs a defeat offense. Striking a hard object incurs a misdeed. There is no defeat offense in thinking of making it cool, thinking of crossing to the other shore, or thinking of learning to swim. The Blessed One said that a monk should make swimming a way of walking. Furthermore, if one scatters water, the defeat offense increases according to the number of water droplets. There is no defeat offense in thinking of making it cool. Scattering sesame oil, etc., incurs a misdeed. If one makes others happy with something other than water, it incurs a misdeed. Thinking of water as water has six types.

It should be added. Some say that if one perceives something that is not water as water, one commits a downfall. Fourth. In Shravasti, if one dwells in the house of a woman who has not ceased procreation and has not had children, because it is inappropriate to entertain, and begins to coerce with power, and controls the woman's residence, due to the affliction of disbelief, it constitutes the fifth. Dwelling together with a woman's residence means that it is tolerable for humans to engage in impure conduct. Another saying is that if all limbs can be touched, it should also be so. Dwelling together in one place means that in the four types of dwellings mentioned earlier, if one does not leave until dawn, it constitutes the end of the downfall. If it is before dawn, one commits a misdeed. So, how does one commit a downfall? If a monk sleeps in the lower room and a woman sleeps in the upper room, the monk supports the ladder and places it beside him. Or close the door and put the latch on. Or arrange for a monk to guard. Another situation is that if it dawns, one commits a downfall. If it is the other way around, one should pretend on the stairs. Similarly, a dwelling, a pavilion, any door, a floor room is fine, if one lives in a pavilion and a corridor, especially tie it outside the door. A cattle pen or a livestock pen, or as it is said to be a pavilion, surround the place where one sleeps with thorns or thorny ropes, or branches, etc. Or arrange for a monk to guard. Another situation is that if it dawns, one commits a misdeed. Before that, one also commits a misdeed. If one sees the figure of a goddess or a dragon girl, one also commits a misdeed. If one is reborn as an animal, even a crow, sleeping with it also commits a misdeed. For something smaller than that, there is no downfall. In dense grass, or dense forest, or dense reeds, or hollow tree trunks, or bird nests, sleeping with a woman commits a misdeed. Sleeping with a woman without strength also commits a misdeed. If there are many connected rooms in a temple, but the doors are separate, sleeping with a woman there commits a downfall. Sleeping with someone who has not received full ordination does not commit a downfall. If a crow can go from one place to another.
