Those that are given, should not be done in a situation where there is no poverty. If one does not know about butter jars and the like, and thinks they are paint, then even taking turns is not storing. If climbing stairs with few steps, one should carefully place them on the ground when descending. If climbing many steps, one should place them on top. One should wash one's hands and mouth and then drink. The mouth is always noisy, and no one can make it not noisy, but one should cleanse it with cow dung, rinse it with two or three mouthfuls of water, discard it, and then drink. One should also think about the begging bowl and wash it two or three times. Even so, if it is oily, one should call it by its proper name and then eat it. If one wants to discard stored grains, rice, etc., and sees insects, one should brush them away with wood, discard them, rinse with three mouthfuls of water, and then eat it. If the begging bowl is slightly moved, and snow is poured in as a substitute, and the oil that was previously attached rises and is visible everywhere, then one should remove it and then eat it. Even if it is allowed, if it is still oily on the second day, there is no fault. Bhikshus and bhikshunis can give and receive stored food to each other and then eat it. If a bhikshu tastes the food of bhikshunis, etc., first, and then they wipe it and give it, then it is not considered storing, and there is no downfall. Eighth. In Shravasti, all the great black-robed bhikshus were dwellers in cemeteries, taking and eating the five foods themselves. Rumors spread that they were eating human flesh. The Blessed One instructed: Allow them to eat by giving and receiving. If they eat, that itself becomes the witness. Poisonous foods, whether given and received or not, eating them violates the ninth precept. Not given means not given and received. Those who are in accordance with the Dharma, those who have given instruction, bhikshunis, shramanerikas, shramaneras, and shramaneris, or anyone else, even monkeys, bears, or even intelligent elephants, whoever has the ability to discern, also has the ability to give and receive. By giving the vows that have been undertaken, it is considered that giving and receiving has been done to them.

It is permissible, but not for others. Likewise, because the precepts that were not vowed were given. Only those who have taken what was given through vows are allowed to eat, but not for others. Similarly, it is also the case that what is given is taken without vows. There are four ways in which giving is taken: by thinking in the mind, by the giver also being separately near, by taking with one's own hand, and by indicating a place nearby. To the connection of the body, or to the connection by the connection of the body, or also to the unconnected. There are five ways of taking what is given: body to body, body and connection to body, body to body and connection, body and connection to body and connection, and saying, 'Place it near here.' For example, in a place for excretion, if a mandala is made, the begging bowl is placed and in the manner of saying, 'Throw it here.' Furthermore, there are five ways of taking by extending the hand: Manshel, a bed and a small bed, a stool, and the base of a begging bowl. These five things are not taken because they are outside the boundary, they are in a direction that cannot be obtained, they are done from the armpit, they are done from the back, and they are also taken with the hand face down. Reversing those five is taking what is given. Some say that if giving is taken without ritual, there is a transgression. In a place where the sound of the north is unpleasant, one should eat without taking what is given. If food is spilled from a common heap and burned and discarded, but the donor's mind has given it up, if it is used as an umbrella or screen, then it should be eaten at the time when the sound of the north is unpleasant. If something that has not been given falls into what has been given, if there is someone to give, it should be given again. If there is no one, it should be taken out. If broth or something that is not broth falls into rice gruel, it should be added in large quantities and taken out. If what has been given is touched by a householder, it should be given again. If something that has not been given is placed on top of what has been given, it should definitely be cleared away in large quantities and enjoyed. There are five kinds of sweat: retained in the pores, not retained in the pores, permissible, not permissible, and dust itself is sweat; if it is invisible, then all of that is permissible, even if it has not been given.
