If eaten, it is a downfall. There is no downfall in the former case. If a person is invited there, and also invited together with the Sangha, then the former (invitation) should be given to another bhikkhu with a mind (to accept). If (the donor) says, "This is also available, but look for something else," or says, "Eat here and also look for something else," or says, "Only eat what is in the bowl, and eat the rest elsewhere," or similarly says, "May the bhikkhu also obtain food from other places," or says, "Bhikkhu, I will not invite you," or says, "Food is given, but I will not invite," or says, "Bhikkhu, there is plenty of food, but I will not invite," or says, "Bhikkhu, come here, I will not invite," except for children, cooks, and the five foods, others may (accept the invitation). If two people openly invite, or say, "Eat here and then eat there," there is no offense, and for those who see it as permissible, there is no downfall. Some say that if the donor does not become displeased with that sign, there is no downfall. In times of famine, even if many people invite, they should accept because they practice the same Brahmacharya, and those people should also go there and eat. If they do not give, one should eat a little oneself and say, "These people are poor," and then allow them to make offerings. Afterwards, one should eat one's fill. If one accepts through letters or arithmetic, it is a minor offense. For a monastery or hermitage belonging to a single person, repeatedly begging for food out of vanity or desire for abundant food is a minor offense. If one does not enjoy it respectfully or in a deceitful manner, it is a minor offense. For those who are invited, there are six ways of perceiving being invited: two involve a downfall, two involve a minor offense, and two involve no downfall. The first chapter ends. Dwelling in Shravasti. The group of six bhikkhus resided for the sake of the ascetics and Brahmins of the four directions, and when they were seated there, while eating food in the house of the householder, the women showed their arms and fingers, becoming distrustful, and those (group of six bhikkhus) were like naked heretics.

Those people also beat them so violently, so the second was established. The term "Minwa" refers to what was permitted starting from the venerable Shariputra. So, what kind of downfall will occur from this? If one stays there and eats there, it is a minor offense and a downfall. If one stays there and eats elsewhere, it is only a minor offense. If one stays elsewhere and eats there, it is only a downfall. If one stays elsewhere and eats elsewhere, there is no downfall. Regarding many foods, considering them as many, there are six situations: two downfalls, two minor offenses, and two without downfall. If it is done for the sake of the Sangha, or in a dangerous time, or if the benefactor says, "Stay right here," there is no downfall in such exhortation. If it is a dwelling place made by gods, etc., or a dwelling place of monks, or not a dwelling place of wanderers, there is no downfall. The second. Staying in Shravasti. Because the six groups of monks, when the time was ripe, made various preparations to get married, taking everything away and filling the large bowls, for this reason, the lame man on the right became a punishment for getting married, so the third was established. The so-called "going to various houses" means going to various houses, which I myself often use, is to make a clicking sound at the door while begging and then enter. If there are many houses, one should make a mark on the door with flour, etc. One should not go to dirty places that are not places of practice. For example: the house of an entertainer, the house of a prostitute, the house of a wine seller, the king's palace, the house of an outcaste. If women have strong desires, one should not go there in order to completely avoid faults such as death. The so-called "faith" refers to obvious faith in the Buddha, etc. The so-called "flour" refers to various flours. The so-called "carrying" refers to various dowries. Filling the bowl
