These are: the basis of sexual intercourse, the basis of acceptance, the basis of intolerance, the basis of trust, acquisition, and respect, the basis of dwelling, the basis of practicing the same pure conduct, the basis of the Sangha, the basis of enjoying material things, the basis of enjoying the Dharma, the basis of female lay practitioners, the basis of complete covering, the basis of near covering, the basis of fulfillment, the basis of signs, the basis of the alms bowl, the basis of the Dharma robe, the basis of rising, the basis of giving and not giving, the basis of taking at the wrong time, the basis of establishing offenses, the basis of transforming dedication, the basis of medicine for the sick, the basis of transgression, the basis of ordination, the basis of cyclic existence, the basis of disputes, the basis of teaching, the basis of a person receiving full ordination, the basis of individual liberation, the basis of vows, the basis of the place of seeds and elements, the basis of heavy objects, the basis of disrespect, the basis of the path of dwelling, the basis of nuns, the basis of fully enjoying alms, the basis of storing water, the basis of approaching households, the basis of non-Buddhists, the basis of armies, the basis of friends, the basis of fire, the basis of intention, the basis of sleeping, the basis of improper thinking, the basis of weapons, the basis of taking what is not allowed, the basis of lack of independence, the basis of the birthplace of animals, the basis of play, the basis of the realm of women, the basis of entering the path, the basis of bestowing full ordination, the basis of taking land, the basis of strength, the basis of training, the basis of reproach, the basis of fighting, the basis of distinguishing related words, the basis of inviting guests, the basis of entering a town, the basis of hail, the basis of the measure of dwelling places, the basis of the measure of Dharma robes, the basis of rituals, and the basis of discussion. Afflictions are of two types: those that arise simultaneously and those that are completely conceptualized. In detail, there are twenty-five types. These are: desire and hatred.

Ignorance, and the affliction of lust, and the affliction of taking, and the affliction of intolerance, believing and obtaining affliction, the affliction of respect, the affliction arising from disputes, the affliction of delighting in evil deeds, the affliction of contemplating on knowable things, the affliction of creating disturbances in the home, the affliction of being unable to endure without autonomy, the affliction of serious violation, the affliction of poverty, the affliction of relying on dependent origination, the affliction of disbelief, the affliction of concealment, the affliction of clinging to relatives, the affliction of heaviness, the affliction of disrespect, the affliction of reviling, the affliction of lack of compassion, the affliction of laziness, the affliction of not being completely pacified, the affliction of feeling unbearable. The meaning of the words is to show the nature of the objects of learning, and the word "again" shows that there is no falling into the initial karma, as it is said. Falling means that doing this will lead to falling, thus showing it. Not falling means that doing this will not lead to falling, thus showing those. Limbs mean that if you have these limbs, you will fall, and if you do not have these, you will not fall, thus showing those. Arousal is six ways, namely body and speech, body and mind, speech, speech and mind, body and speech and mind. Signs refer to defeat and so on. Interrupted and uninterrupted, relying on the antidote means that because the continuity of faults is interrupted, it is called interrupted. The opposite of this is uninterrupted. Fault refers to the fault of nature here or the fault of enactment, or what is it? What is especially practiced by afflictions is the fault of nature. What is not an affliction is the fault of enactment. What should be done and what should not be done refers to what will cause falling if done, and what will cause falling even if not done. Practice refers to those that are enacted without becoming a fault. Non-practice refers to those that are enacted even without becoming a fault. Lightness and heaviness themselves are six ways, namely enactment and basis.
