I am appointed as the reprover. This is a petition. This is a petition. Venerable members of the Sangha, please listen. The Bhikshu reprover, named so-and-so, residing on Mount Redei, because the Bhikshus Going-Fast and Naso enjoy reproving with various non-ascetic practices. Therefore, if the Sangha appoints the Bhikshu named so-and-so to reprove the Bhikshus Going-Fast and Naso, then those venerable ones who can tolerate the appointment of the Bhikshu reprover named so-and-so to reprove the Bhikshus Going-Fast and Naso, please remain silent. Those who cannot tolerate it, please speak up. The Sangha has tolerated and permitted it. The Sangha has appointed the Bhikshu reprover named so-and-so to reprove the Bhikshus Going-Fast and Naso. Because of this silence, it is accepted as such. After that, the Bhikshu reprover should arrange the order of reproof as follows: In this way, reproof can also be done with a common object. That is: one person reproves one person, one person reproves two people, one person reproves many people, one person reproves the Sangha, two people reprove one person, two people reprove two people, two people reprove many people, two people reprove the Sangha, many people reprove one person, many people reprove two people, many people reprove many people, many people reprove the Sangha, the Sangha reproves one person, the Sangha reproves two people, the Sangha reproves many people, when the Sangha reproves the Sangha, the object of reproof and the occasion for reproof, it is permissible to reprove in that way with a common object. The reprover can also do so with a common object. Let him allow for separate occasions, and then in a quiet place, maintaining mindfulness and awareness, reprove based on what is seen, heard, or suspected. When reproving based on evidence in this way, if it is not remembered, then the reprover should recall through what is seen, heard, or suspected, the place, time, and basis from which the transgression occurred.

If, after discussing and recollecting in this way, no distinction is made, then, in that case, one should make statements, not make choices, avoid idle talk, place robes, make refutations and distinctions, and place pegs. Then, having made distinctions and become intimate, if the speaker acknowledges, that is the ultimate, because acknowledgment pacifies disputes. After that, the order of arranging the questioning of the four great ones (witnesses) should be done as follows: If, when the speaker speaks in this way, the one being spoken to, although making distinctions, does not acknowledge the time, place, conduct, and subsequent practice, then, at that time, the four great ones (witnesses) should be questioned. The four great ones (witnesses) are the speaker who is a seer of truth, and others, whether monks or householders, who are superior to virtues, should be taken as a standard. If it is with others, then the words should be followed. If there is doubt, it is not knowledge, therefore it is not respected. If the four great ones (witnesses) are seers of truth, and if it is certain from those who are superior to virtues, then it is like acknowledging oneself. After that, the order of arranging the acknowledgment should be done as follows: If the speaker speaks in this way and questions the four great ones (witnesses), etc., whether or not relying on proof, a monk should not commit an offense, therefore there is a reason, and if he remembers committing an offense, he should acknowledge it from the Sangha, and if he knows the offense, he should confess it according to the Dharma, then the dispute arising from committing the offense will be pacified. After that, for the statement of acknowledgment, by having him seek its own nature, combining it with certain holding, the order of giving alms should be arranged as follows: If the speaker speaks to a person who has committed an offense, after remembering the offense, he acknowledges it to the Sangha, and after that, if he distinguishes it by forgetting, if he does not understand its form, then it is a fault of his own nature, that is, committing an offense. Therefore, for this, the Sangha should have him seek its own nature, combine it with certain holding, and give alms, because he is able to seek and find his own nature, therefore, if he gives alms combined with certain holding, then the dispute arising from committing the offense will be pacified.
