The Buddha, the Bhagavan, accepted to spend the summer retreat at the place of the Shakya settlement. The Bhagavan instructed the monks, "In seven or eight days, there will be a Pravāraṇā. If you can find lodging in the villages within the practice area, then the Pravāraṇā will occur." After the Bhagavan gave this instruction, the monks went and proclaimed it. Then, the Shakyas residing in the Shakya settlement, on the fifteenth day of the Pravāraṇā, went to where the Bhagavan was. Having arrived, they bowed their heads to the feet of the Bhagavan and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the Bhagavan, with a Dharma-related discourse, truly showed the Shakyas residing in the Shakya settlement. He caused them to truly understand, caused them to truly rejoice, and caused them to truly be delighted. In many ways, through a Dharma-related discourse, he caused them to truly understand, truly rejoice, and truly be delighted, and then remained silent. Then, the Shakyas residing in the Shakya settlement, being pleased with the Bhagavan's instruction and rejoicing after it, spoke thus to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, would you please allow us to offer a meal tomorrow to you and the Sangha of monks? Tomorrow, some monks need not go for alms. We will seek alms ourselves, and we will satisfy and strengthen the Bhagavan and the Sangha of disciples with our own hands." The Bhagavan, by not saying anything to the Shakyas residing in the Shakya settlement, gave his permission. Then, they went to the Shakya settlement and, that very night, prepared clean and delicious food. The next morning, they rose early and filled the carts with food and said to the daughters of the Shakyas, "You all get on these carts and go ahead, and we will come behind." Those women, adorned with all kinds of ornaments, got on the carts and set off. Because the vicinity of the Shakya settlement was very dense, robbers saw them on the road and said, "Gentlemen, these Shakya daughters adorned with all kinds of ornaments are going..."

Come, destroy them! The army leader of the robbers said: The knowledgeable ones have all gone, what use is it for you to destroy these? Let those wicked Shakyas go, they will harm those who suppress others. They said: Who has seen the back of the army leader? Destroy them! They said these unpleasant words, destroyed those people, robbed all the clothes and ornaments, and then left. Those Shakya daughters were also terrified and hid naked in the dense forests. The charioteers were also frightened and scattered. The oxen also broke their ropes and wandered around at will. The carts were also separated from the yokes and stayed there. The Six Groups of monks began to discuss with each other: Ananda and Upananda, these licentious Shakyas have been staying for a long time, are they going to cut off our food? Let's go begging. Having decided this, they set off with their bowls and Dharma robes. When they came to the road, they saw carts full of food parked on the road, the carts separated from the yokes, and the oxen broke their ropes and wandered around at will. They looked at each other and began to shout: Knowledgeable ones, who is here? Those daughters made a sound. The Six Groups of monks said: Who are you? Those noble ones replied: We are the daughters of the Shakyas. Come, give us alms! Those noble ones said: We have been destroyed by robbers and are now naked. Please cover us with umbrellas and clothes. Your limbs, which we have not seen before, please cover with leaves and then come and give alms. The Six Groups of monks said: Ananda, Upananda, look, look! What are the eyes of these Shakya daughters like? What is the nose like? What are the lips like? What are the breasts like? What are the hands like? What is the waist like? What are the legs like? Look! When they harassed those daughters in this way, they felt ashamed and hid in the dense forests. The Six Groups of monks said to the Shakyas: The daughters of the Shakyas have been destroyed! Then, the Shakyas, holding bows and arrows in their hands and holding weapons, ambushed on the road, blocked the road, and caught those robbers. At that time, some people said:
