In that entering (state), any bhikkhu who is a person who eats the same food, whether eating together or not eating together is fine. Without informing the bhikkhuni, "You stay here for a while until the bhikkhus finish eating," three or more bhikkhus are invited, and if they eat, then the language of informing is only far away to the point of being inaccessible. If there is no awareness that it is an informing, then allowing those who have not yet taken their seats to join without preventing them from eating will become the actual basis for individual confession. The author here is the bhikkhu who causes the downfall, or another bhikkhu who helps that bhikkhuni who is involved in distributing food with food, drink, beans, food, or "give a little more," etc., or her relatives invite non-guests, show food, allow giving what has not been given, except that the language of informing is far away to the point of being inaccessible, the person sitting there is the author. Here, five branches lead to actual downfall: What are they? In homes, temples, and monasteries, etc., all the people of the donor family gather together, or those designated by them distribute food; three or more bhikkhus are invited; the language of that bhikkhuni, or her relatives invite non-guests, show food, allow giving what has not been given; the language of informing is far away to the point of being inaccessible, and not being involved in distributing food; and those bhikkhus who eat the same food, without being informed, are aware (of not being informed) and eat. If these branches are incomplete, then they will be blamed accordingly. Allowing those who have not yet taken their seats to join without preventing them from eating is the second matter for individual confession. The basis for individual confession regarding breaking the precepts and entering the household is: The Buddha Bhagavan was residing in the multi-storied pavilion by the Monkey Pond in Vaishali (city in northern Bihar). When General Singh saw the truth in front of the Bhagavan, he seized an opportunity, spoke such great words, and correctly uttered a lion's roar in the Sangha, and from then on.

Now, for the impure naked ones, the impure naked ones, the Shravakas of the naked sect, and the Shravika nuns of the naked women, the door is closed. For the Lord's Shravaka monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen, the door is open. Declaring that all actions related to agriculture are blameless, and completely abandoning these actions. He is endowed with faith and is good, with a mind set on virtuous deeds. He has nothing that he does not offer or give away to the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, or pleasing monks. He offers and gives in this way, enjoying prosperity and completely exhausting it, ultimately reaching fulfillment. At that time, the venerable Shariputra and the great Maudgalyayana were traveling. When they arrived at Vaishali, General Lion invited them both to another house for a meal. When he went to prepare the meal for them himself, the naked ones saw him. Those who were knowledgeable (said): When General Lion showed faith in us, at that time everything became perfect. Now he shows faith in the Shakyaputra ascetics, this is neither near nor near, he himself is doing the household work. Just as they began to slander, the monks reported to the Lord. The Lord said: Monks, you should only give the vow of learning with the work of prayer, to General Lion and others like him, do not go to the monk's house there, do not enjoy the seat, do not eat alms, do not teach the Dharma. After the monks gave him the vow of learning, the venerable Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, the Lord allowed them to go to the house of General Lion whom they had invited before. The group of six monks saw them both and said: Where are you two going? To General Lion's house. Did the Sangha not give him the vow of learning? It was given, it was given to those who gave the vow. We two were invited before. The group of six monks said: If that is so,

At that time, when General Simha saw the truth in the presence of the Blessed One, we were among those who invited him first. The two of them wanted to remain silent, and those people followed closely behind them. When General Simha saw that many monks had come, he was overjoyed and distributed whatever the householders needed to the monks. After they had eaten, his children also began to eat. He said, "Children, distribute whatever the householders need to the monks as well. Wait a moment before preparing anything else." Having heard them grumbling, some monks with few desires said, "Why do the monks, without being invited, enter the homes of those scholars who are bound by the monastic discipline, and take food with their own hands and eat it?" They condemned, scolded, and made various criticisms. At that time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, as before, established the precept: If a monk, without being invited, enters the home of a scholar who is bound by the monastic discipline, and takes food with his own hands and eats it, then that monk should go outside the monastery and say to the monks, "Venerable ones, I have committed an inappropriate error that should be confessed individually, I confess." Therefore, this action should be confessed individually. The Blessed One established this precept. The place was Shravasti. The people were the group of six monks. The affliction was seeking hospitality. The fault was breaking the precept and entering another's home. Among them, "scholars" refers to stream-enterers, once-returners, and non-returners. "Home" refers to the homes of Brahmins and householders. "Sangha" refers to the Sangha of the Buddha's disciples. "Bound by discipline" refers to the request.
