It is to abandon the Saṅgha separately from abiding in its own nature. That abandonment of others, there is one with cause, and one without cause. The one with cause is the place and time, and the one who has the cause of the downfall from where it occurred is abandoned. The one without cause is speaking without fault, speaking without basis, and speaking according to others, and speaking without relying on subsequent remedies, and speaking by madmen, etc. Thus, abandoning others by establishing instructions, etc., is the second cause of strife. From that second cause of strife, disputes arise because of not instructing, which is called disputes because of not instructing. Abandoning others by establishing instructions, etc., relying on the one with cause and the one without cause, because the enemy speaks discordant words, the strife of clinging to the mind, for abandoning others with cause, for a monk with downfall, the Saṅgha appoints a speaker, and causes him to enter into guidance, and in a secluded place, with mindfulness and awareness, speaks with cause, and from the place and time, and from the gate of where the downfall occurred, to be mindful, and if not guided, then it is only speaking, and only not instructing, and speaking confused words, etc., and establishing the Uposatha, and establishing the rejection, and only having pegs, etc., and only having retinue, and from the cause of not instructing, to subdue the dispute by direct perception, To pacify by giving many wooden staffs, by making the continuum one, and from abandoning others and without cause, a monk without downfall, speaking without basis, and speaking according to the power of others, and speaking without relying on subsequent remedies, and speaking by madmen, etc., having retinue, and from the continuum of not instructing, to subdue the dispute with mindfulness, and to subdue with the non-mad, to pacify by giving purity what arises. This is called disputes because of not instructing. Thus, it should be known that from the second cause of strife, abandoning others by establishing instructions, etc., the second cause of strife arises, disputes because of not instructing. Only having downfall.
