Having petitioned the ground, the Blessed One, as before, established the training to eat without making "phu phu" sounds. The location was Śrāvastī. The individuals were the group of six. The affliction was the thought of being unripe. The offense was making "phu phu" sounds with the mouth while tasting food. Among these, "without making phu phu sounds" means not eating while making phu phu sounds. Therefore, one should train well in eating. Among these, here, the method of establishing the actual downfall is: if one does not train in that way during the actual occasion, it becomes the actual basis for an offense to be confessed. The agent here is the sound "phu phu" coming from the mouth and the food itself. There is only one branch here, which is the accomplishment of the actual basis itself. As for the preparation and the accomplishment of the preparation of the preparation itself, it is to be blamed as appropriate, as before. The fifty-seventh training is complete. The basis for the training of not eating with the tongue extended is: The Buddha, the Blessed One, was dwelling in Śrāvastī, in the Jeta Grove, in Anāthapiṇḍada's monastery. The group of six, when eating alms in other people's homes, would stick out their tongues and look, and lick with their two lips. The monks said to them: "Venerable ones, why do you stick out your tongues and look?" They said: "Venerable ones, if it is not prescribed, it is not permissible, so we look." The monks rebuked them. At that time, the monks petitioned the Blessed One. The Blessed One, as before, established the training of not eating with the tongue extended. The location was Śrāvastī. The individuals were the group of six. The affliction was doing what is unnecessary. The offense was eating with the tongue extended. Among these, "not eating with the tongue extended" means that when eating, one should not eat with the tongue extended, one should train. Therefore, one should train well in eating. Among these, here, the method of establishing the actual downfall is: if one does not train in that way during the actual occasion, it becomes the actual basis for an offense to be confessed. The agent here is eating with the tongue extended and the food itself. There is only one branch here, which is the accomplishment of the actual basis itself. Regarding the preparation and the accomplishment of the preparation of the preparation

For those appropriate things, they are blamed, which is the same as before. This is the fifty-eighth precept. The commentary on the Sutra of Individual Liberation, Volume Twenty-Three. The verse says, "Separating grains has five actions." The precepts mentioned here include: do not separate grains, do not mock, do not move the cheeks, do not make sounds, do not cut off food scraps, one should learn how to eat. Therefore, the basis for learning how not to separate grains while eating is: The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was residing in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden in Shravasti. When the Six Groups of monks were eating in other people's homes, they picked out each grain of rice and ate it. Brahmins and faithful patrons saw this and rebuked them, saying, 'These noble ones are like children, beggars, gamblers, and sons of leftovers, doing this is not appropriate, do not eat like that.' They said, 'Wise ones, there is a reason for this.' Noble ones, what is the reason? First, you yourselves do not understand and have been trained.' Hearing them extensively blaming, at that time the monks reported to the Bhagavan, and the Bhagavan thought, 'The patrons are telling the truth.' Therefore, as before, the precept of not separating grains while eating was established. The location is Shravasti, the people are the Six Groups of monks, the affliction is impropriety, the fault is picking out each grain of rice to eat. Regarding 'not separating grains,' grains refer to rice and other grains. Do not pick out those things that have grains one by one to eat, one should properly learn how to eat. Here, the classification of the root downfall is: in the actual situation, if it is not done according to the precept, it will become the root of a misdeed that should be confessed. The agent here is the person who separates the grains and the food itself. There is only one branch here, which is the actual accomplishment. For the preparation and the preparation of the preparation of the accomplishment, they are blamed.
